At the moment I think they are equally matched, but I would like your views.

Ponting any day in my book. I think he does a much better job than Drvaid, although yes Dravid scores runs and I know his job is to hold an innings together, but he can be sooo boring to watch at times. I would much rather watch Ponting play any day. That's only my opinion though

well, ricky ponting has it pretty ez and becoz of that he doesnt have too many distractions and is able to concentrate on his batting alittle more, rahul dravid has to deal with the indian media and the speculation of feuds in the clubhouse the sourav ganguly and greg chappell thing and the Ozs have a more complete team and are easier to captain thats y i say under the circumstances i say dravid is better but they are one of the all time greats no doubt about that

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????
What is your point... Cricket is cricket, if Dravid can't deal with being skipper he should quit, Ponting can and he has been under enormous pressure after the Ashes defeat..For mind Ponting is absolutely astonishing and they do not come much better then him..
You are bias for sure SEHWAG NO.1... but this time you have no justification for your answer.

Well surely Ricky Ponting has to face the Australian media as well? I would hardly say he has it easy I mean just look at all the stuff that was being said about him after the Ashes.

1. Ponting has it anything but easy... you obviously haven't taken much notice of how australia has come back to the pack since the ashes... ponting has been a shining light in an unstable australian team. 2. Not many distractions ???????? pffffffffft!!!!! apart from being the prime-minister in australia, captaining the australian cricket team is probably the next most important job by the public 3. He's been given an ageing team, and has had to captain a team that has had a lot of personal changes since the ashes... thats definetly not easy on a captain. now tell me that ponting has it easier than dravid ????? i very much doubt it

Maybe Ponting having it easier means that Ponting got it easy in the cricket scene by going to a top class cicket academy at 14 As Dravid (I'm guessing much like Lara or Tendulkar) built their way up through street cricket |

you have absolutely kidding me if u think ponting has it harder than dravid, to say ponting has it easier than dravid would be an idiotic staement, seriously just think about it ponting has got it made when comparing him with dravid and theres no need to argue becoz theres no arguement!

to get things straight, i didn't say that ponting has it easier... you said that dravid has it easier, i proved you wrong, they both have similar pressures being the captains of their particular teams anyway you still haven't shown me how dravid gets it easier... you just posted a bunch of emotional claptrap with no justification at all... i burnt down your first argument... and it seems you have no more facts to back up your argument..... or perhaps what you are really saying is that ponting has it easier because he IS the better player Edited by Clapo |

australian media vs indian media winner indian media better team austrailia more experince austrailia dravid has sourav gangulys shadow over him dravid doesnt have the support of all of his players dravid soesnt have the support from his fans everyone just waits for him and india to fail to jump on him and call for ganguly these are reasons why dravid has it worse than ponting

also dravid is always labelled as a boring batsman to watch and always tagged with an unfair label, while ponting is everyones hero with his agressive ways, i am not trying to day ponting has a walk in the park every day but compared to dravid his problems are not much

1.if you hadn't noticed, everyone jumped on ponting when australia lost the ashes, and called for warne.... 2. Ponting has waugh's shadow over him, his captaincy is compared to waugh, who had by far the better team. 3. There are still fans who want warne as captain, because the think ponting is to conservative. 4. The media in either countries are quick to jump all over a failure or incident involving their cricket teams as they are considered the most important national teams of any sport in either country....\ i don't disagree that australia has a better and more experienced team. If dravid can't handle the pressure, he shouldn't be captain, ponting has taken it in his stride, and answered the best way possible, his average has sky-rocketed since becoming captain.... |

ok yes those are valid points but still on the current wave dravid has more pressure on him becoz ponting has proven himself, austraila have won the last two world cups and have dominated world cricket for as long as i can remember

Surely the fact that Australia have done so well is even more of a pressure? I don't think you can just easily say who has more pressure as you don't know every single fact about each ones life. Just based on who you think is the best and not who has the hardest life who would you say? |

if ur asking me to say who is better i simply cant choose between the two, i mean ponting is just destroy anyone who comes in his way at the moment but dravid kills the opposition in a more slow and painful way, they are both too good to decide between

Dravid is the most technically sound batsmen defensively..but Ponting has a much better strokemaking technique... At the end of the day in a world XI Ponting will be chose before Dravid.
