England have just given out their central contracts and some new incremental contracts that I believe pay less than central ones but go up with every game you play. England have also announced a squad for the India ODI's and the Stanford super series.

Central Contracts

Anderson
Bell
Broad
Collingwood
Cook
Flintoff
Harmison
Panesar
Pietersen
Sidebottom
Strauss
Vaughan

Incremental Contracts

Ambrose
Bopara
Patel
Prior
Shah
Swann
Wright

India ODI's + Stanford Super Series

Pietersen (c)
Anderson
Bell
Bopara
Broad
Collingwood
Cook
Flintoff
Harmison
Patel
Prior
Shah
Swann
Sidebottom
Wright

Interesting that Strauss still has his central contract and also that Vaughn got given one. Ambrose also gets an incremental contract along with Prior which suggests both will go to India.

Why is Strauss's central contract surprising to you mate? I guess everybody expected Strauss to make it.

Good luck to Broad , Harmison and Patel who were the greatest benefactors and commiserations to Hoggard , the biggest loser.

Watch Harmison slip back into his comfort zone - now he knows his money is secure for another year it'll be no surprise at all if his performance level tapers right off again.

It must be a concern Clobs , the T20 jaunt should be okay but India might just get to him.  If it does , then Hoggy has even more reason to feel aggrieved.

Hoggard has been undone indeed.  Broad has done well in ODI's but I'm sure an out of form Hoggard would have had more impact in the tests!  Well, Broad has scored runs so, I guess it makes up for that.

He hasn't exactly been brilliant over the last year, he's only played a few tests after being dropped and he was rubbish against South Africa. I'm surprised he wasn't given an incremental contact.

He was however player of the series in the series immediately before SA, so discarding him so soon after would be ludicrously harsh.

I have to say that I'm still more confident in seeing a solid opening partnership of Strauss/Cook than I am of a Vaughan/Cook one.  Yes , we all know how wonderful Vaughan has been , but that's my point , is he a has-been ?

Exactly Sledge. Vaughan's days seem to be over.

I dont expect Harmison to feature in the Stanford game. He just ain't the T20 type of guy imo.

I disagree - he might go for a few , but those flaky Windies batsmen won't like him at all !  Get Gayle early and then get the wheelbarrows out to take home the dosh !

    Good one that .

Anyhow, you're dead right there - not many of them West Indians nowadays seem comfy against the fast, short stuff.  Gayle can play them and Harmison knows that pretty well.  So can Shiv but other than that, it looks bleak.  Sarwan is known to get out from hooking/pulling a lot.
