England's Lifeline to Success

Engand have so far been written off by, everyone, but they are the only team, bar South Africa, that have left out test players for specialists at the county game. That might give them a lifeline. Look for example how many Australian players in the squad were in the Ashes test series? Nearly everyone. But England on the other matter, didn't field, Snape, Kirtley, Schofield, as they are taking a damn good risk at having a good chance of winning this tournament. This should give England some believers.

I don't think everyone has written England off! This is the shortest format of the game and anything can happen.

well i as just saying that the aussies have theitr own 20/20 compettion and, im not a grewat follower but...., surely theyll have specialists like england do. iI meant that if you compare the TEST side from the ashes in australia, they have just nearly picked the same side which may not be suited to 20/20, that for me is the problem with australia, they have their so called "stars" like gilchrist etc and they then use them for EVERY  format of the game, for all they know they could have a player which was appaling at tests but yet would hit hundred after hundred but they would not pick him because they stick woth that same XI for EVERYTHING 

i know but if you think about it the only changes from the one day squad from the test squad is hogg for warne, lee for mcgrath, and watson for langer and all 3 of those people that are out are retired so this IS probably the test squad now anyway

I Don't see a problem with the Aussies squad. That side can Play all form of the game and win easily still. Hayden can hit them, we all know what Gilly can do; Clarke and Symonds can murder the ball and Hussey has played some cameos in his career all ready. Bracken's good with the ball in limited overs, well, Lee, he might go for a few but can take wickets still and is handy with the bat. I'll have my money on them than any other side but this game is too unpredictable, any of the test nations can win it.

  Steve Elworthy , the tournament organiser said that the event will closely follow the method used in local T20 competitions. From that , I take it that on-field mics will be part of the game - along with the miner's helmets , dancing girls and rock music !

the on-field discussions are something I enjoy although Sky have cut back on them during the last couple of seasons and now you tend to have 2 players in the fielding side with mics and they will talk to the commentary box just the once each during an innings

Fair enough. It can add a bit of humour I suppose.

Hate it personally. They're playing a professional sport and should be removed from emotional invigilation while doing so.

You are right about not writing off England. As you said they have different players and it's a totally different game so they have as much chance as any of the other teams.
