What a surprise that when it got important the useless ****** should be smacked for 18 runs that in the final analysis cost his team the match. FOAD Goughie.

This last performance should signal the end of Gough on the international scene. It can only be a backward step if the selectors bottle it and bring the old git back!!

Gough WAS good , there shouldn't be any sentiment , he must be put out to grass.

I completely disagree. Gough is good currently and one of the best available for England. Even if his ego is huge.

i can see australia & india celebrating the possibility of facing gough in the champions trophy, as sledger said he WAS good, but please don't put him out to the pastures just yet  (wait until after the champions trophy )

5-0 You Beauty!!!!!

Maybe that's the answer SS - let him get "Pakistanned" - with the emphasis on tanned in the upcoming one dayers and then he'll disappear without much of a whimper.

I wouldn;t mind if he did ***** in the ICC trophy, at least we could forget about him, but he deserves to live up to his own hype or be thrown aside.

I think he's a bit old. He should come for the Champions Trophy and give some confidence to the team and then RETIRE.

To quote you from another thread

"England don't need another slow medium pacer who can swing the ball a touch".

I think Darren Gough is a legend. A great pinch hitter at number 3 and devastatingly accurate and fast at times. I saw him bowl against Sussex a few night ago and he took 4 wickets. Still the best ODI bowler in England. Better than Mahmood and Harmison who should both be banned from 1 day cricket for being an embarassment to English cricket and in Mahmoods case should be banned from cricket altogether for being so overrated. BRING THE DAZZLER BACK!!!!!

A great pinch hitter a No 3? Don't make me laugh. How many runs has he made then?

How can you say he is fast at times as well. When did you last see him play???

More than the England 1 day squad put together. He can still bowl fast at 85 mph.Darren Gough is the future for English one day squads. MON THE DAZZLER!!!

He CAN NOT bowl at 85mph.

I think your comment that he is "the future" puts any other comment you may wish to make into context.

i think dissapears and then some would be more correct sledg!!!

How is it possible 70DS that a 35 y/o pie chucker could be the "future" of English ODI squads!! Think about that a little and you will hopefully see how ridiculous of a claim you have just made

Ryan doesn't seem to be anywhere near contention but England could do a lot worse than give him a go.

Blimey Clobs , I've just read an old Athers article in The Telegraph - he says we need to bring Gough back!! His reasoning is that the bowlers in possession have been so dire that The Dazzler can't be worse.

On the positive side he talks up Broad and Onions . I've never seen either bowl , but they are taking wickets and that's not to be sniffed at.

Tell me , is Onions genuinely pacy and a real prospect in your eyes? I know what you think about Broad!!
