Quite a basic questions but I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or pointers on a way to help remember the fielding positions?
Thanks |

Know the off-side and leg-side(for starters). Then, i suppose, when you play cricket or are watching it just when a fielder gets the ball say to yourself where he is fielding. I haven't ever had any problems with fielding positions.

No, just with captains that just wiggle their hands, or say "come round a bit" and never tell you if they want you squarer or finer, or say, "move five yards left" and you move five yards, look up at them, expecting to have to move another yard or so either way, then they move you another five yards, then another, and by the time they're finished, you wonder why they didn't just say "move to extra cover(or whatever)". Drive you mad. Or when the captain and the bowler keep adjusting you, one one way, one the other, each while the other's back is turned so that both of them keep complaining about you moving out of position!

I swing both ways - but only when I'm bowling!
