Topic: Fusion Cricket Bat -The Definitive ReviewPosted: 28 February 2006 at 1:15am |

Here is my definitive review of this highly regarded cricket bat. After reading all the hype and good reviews, I decided myself to buy one and test it out. After chatting with Bill, I decided to order the second from the top (of the range) blue label range and it arrived on Friday. Postage took abt 7 days - incredibly quick. BTW, these bats are made by a company called Fusion Sports and the owner is Bill and James Cornford. Verdict: Great bat with striking graphics and powerful performance. "With great power, comes great responsibility". Hopefully that will convert to big scores for me - unleashing it on unsuspecting bowlers this weekend. |

I've recently taken delivery of a Fusion myself and will report in here
once I have tried it out properly after I have my first net with it
next weekend. James told me there was no real need to sit there
knocking it in for hours as long as I was sensible the first couple of
times netting with it.
Mine is around 2'12 and whilst I have seen bigger bats at that weight, it has nice balance and picks up light as a feather so first impressions are all positive. |

Okay I've just had a hit with mine. Being my first net in ages I was
not in great touch. Like Boonie it took me a while to locate the middle
which appears to be slightly higher up than on a lot of bats. What did
excite me was when I did middle it with good timing it felt great - in
particular a slow medium bowler sent down a looping full toss which I
did nothing more than put the bat in front of to knock it back to him
but it went rocketing off the bat.

Yea i agree fusion is a quality company. and their prices are great i have a fusion weighing 2lb 11 but it picks up like a 2lb 8 and it has the biggest profile i have ever seen on a bat however if you want a cusyom made bat go for laver & wood they are the best bats available!

sounds like fusion are good although id recomend a screaming cat any day (from what ive used) i once hit a six of a medium bowler (110km) of the top of the bat just below the sticker on a 70 metre boundary its overall shape and weight feels like you could hit a six anytime and if you hit it out of the centre of the face from just above the toe to the sticker and its in the gap it will go for four. They come in all weights and sizes

Could you please tell me about your laver and wood. Did you get it directly from them or through another website like middlepeg. As much detail as possible would be much appreciated. |

Hi guys, i thinks you know who i am talking about, we at Fusion try to be fair and helpfull to all you guys,it would be nice if you could keep your personal remarks to PMs or e-mails ,it does nobody any good at all to slang in public, and with our brand name caught in the middle, is not fair .
Henry i think you should give all the details about the returned bat! as not to give us a possible bad name, So guys lets get back to discussing cricket matters, so that we may enjoy everyones points of views regarding cricket.
Take care, Bill.

Hi guys, Firstly, i didnt think my simple and unbiased review would stir up a huge verbal fight. Secondly, i think screaming cat is a slang for Slazenger. Correct me if I'm wrong. (i've never heard of a screaming cat bat in Oz) Finally, my Fusion is awesome. Played a match on the weekend and the opposition has been put on notice. The middle is slightly higher than normal. Everytime I found the middle it was gone to the boundary or close to it. Now all I need is more practice so I can find the middle everytime.

Hey Symmo, The cost varies so I suggest u contact Bill to taylor make it to your exact specifications and he can also advise u of the costs. Mine was over $330 AUD. The red label ones are closer to the $400 mark. BTW, I went to Millichamp & Hall website and could not locate any screaming cat bats. Do u have a link or site for this brand? Ta. Boonie |
