I just feel for Scotland and Holland. Two great teams with great batting lineups. South Africa and Australia would be hot favourites for the World Cup. South Africa racking up massive totals from 50 overs is something special, obviously.

I think that the South African's will be the only team to rival Australia in the World Cup Tournament. Both team's capable of scoring over 400 from the 50 overs.

True Righthand, I predict the winner of the World Cup, will come from this group!
I saw into the future - Ashes 2009 England 3 Australia 1!

I appreciate your confidence Titan but I really don't think Scotland will quite go all the way.

In reality the game against Holland is our final so win that and just try to avoid record thrashings against the others, and I'll be content.

No big surprise in that prediction Titan , the two best one day sides around!

That is until Australia fall apart on Friday and SA suffer the same fate tomorrow!Wink

Gambs , what odds a final without either of these two?

Well, seeing that Scotland and Holland are in a group with the 2 powerhouse of ODI's today, I think we are in for some record breaking. They are lucky they aren't being hosted in St. Lucia!

Don't be that sure. Bit Slow turning wicket and confronted with a side with spinners like Ind, SL or NZ SAF will be in serious trouble.

This is obviously going to be Australia's and South Africa's group. Scotland and Holland don't stand a chance against these two sides. I just hope that if it's a great batting track that the Scots and the Dutch bat first or you could be seeing scores of up to 500 and 300 run wins, which isn't good for cricket. But obviously it has to be Australia and SA to qualify.

It s tough now but my vote for SA cause Symond might not be able to play in the WC -- without Symond - it s hard to tell whether Austrailia might win or not --
Austrailia is good team though but looking at the previous record which Australia lost to SA in SA -- so, it s SA who will take Group A -

Australia can win without Symonds, he is just a talented slogger really, Australia have many of those. If they had lost Ponting or Hussey they would have been in more trouble.

Let's hope the Aussies and South Africans bat first against both minnows - that way their batsmen will be absolutely knackered when they go into the super 8!

I reckon Scotland could qualify with "fiery" bowlers like Haq and Brown and Ryan Watson who is as good as Afridi at slogging. Wink

Yes, I think the Aussies will be in for a big surprise when they play their second team against tthe bonny scots.

In South Africa's case it depends on the pitches they produce at St Kitts. If the pitches are slow turners then Scotland and Holland may give them more than just a run for their money.

Slow turners are not, SA is gonna go through along with Aussie!!

Be realistic guys, Scotland and Holland are novice and can't even compete with bangladesh, how in the world are they gonna beat SA of all side. SA always rip the **** out of the small sides!

I know, I just ment that South Africa won't win as convincingly if they play Scotland and Holland on a turning wicket as opposed to a pace and bouncy surface.

It will be a real cracker to see who will win the game between SA and Aus though. Remember South Africa have a team capable of beating Australia, they have a strong line up (although the top order is a bit inconsistent) and one of the best middle orders in the world. They also have a good fast bowling attack and if the pitches are fast, the last attack I would want to face would be South Africa's.

They are a pretty good team so you should expect a lot from them going into this world cup.
