So, India out of the competition! I am wondering what a specific poster on the forum is doing now after making a thread 'India winning the world cup....why?' I didn't expect them to go this early but I always told myself they didn't have what it takes to win a final in the West Indies. Their batting of Uthappa and Dhoni don't suit the pitches of the caribbean. I felt that the little master should have opened as he did for a good while in his career and in which he had a lot of success!

India needs to go back home and start to prepare more bouncy wickets back home if they are to succeed away from home!!

Well played to Sri Lanka! Good to see them playing nice cricket and it makes the super8's more exciting.

That Indian batting line up really collapsed!!! Dravid was trying hard and that's probably how he got caught out but he didn't get much support from any other Indian batsman. Sachin and Dhoni both made ducks so that was a big blow. These batsmen were expected to score some runs. Murali took a good catch though....I think it was to dismiss Dravid. He celebrated a bit after taking that catch....

It's not totally over for India though their fate lies in the match between Bermuda and Bangladesh.....they better hope that Bermuda beats Bangladesh!

Yea, we can still scrape through if BD lose to Bermuda but in all honesty, we dont deserve to go through after our performances in the group stages.  SL look really good.  They outplayed India comprehensively.

Bermuda is the weakest team in the competition Daisy and they won't even trouble you if you played against them.

yeah.......oh well India better start packing then. But it would be VERY interesting if Bermuda beat Bangladesh. However, I won't want that to happen......because I am supporting Bangladesh!!!After their victory over India, I will say that they can DEFINATELY beat Bermuda. They really have confidence and determination.

You shouldn't be saying things like that. When I first saw it I was gonna have a go at you as well but I thought it was worthless!

India players and staff had never expected and even dream of watching the remaining 5 weeks of the worldcup on tv, but it's gonna happen.

Well to me 255 was a getable total. The keys was to start slowly and bat out the new ball ( first 10 overs) then it would of been trouble for sri Lanka. First of all it was a bunch of crop batting and poor shot selection that gotten Uttappa, Ganguly, Sehwag and Dravid out. BUt I won't blamed dravid because he made a great effort and the run rate was going up. Sehwag, the man who many think should of been dropped from the worldcup squad ( which is stupid) score at the highest strike rate for india and made a good enough 48.

Well India got 5 weeks early home than was planned.
August 16th 2009, my team Youth Combine was crowned CHAMPION once more

Very good performance by SL. I have seen some posters here writing off Lasith Malinga aginst Indians. He proved he's a handful on wickets that have even a tinge of bounce. Fernando was a revelation. Very qcuik and producing seam movement off a dead track! Murali was superb. Well done Lanka!

The last sentence was un-necessary I thought, but the others reflect what happens in sub-continent.

Well I am not surprised really .The Indians failed to deliver when it mattered most although the bowlers did a commendable job .The extras cost India as well and its something the coach (whoever it is ) will have to look after .Ganguly and Tendulkar failed again when the team needed them most and I guess its the last match Robin Uthappa has played in his International Career .

It was sad that AK ,Irfan and Sree and Karthik didn't get a game because Sreesanth usually bowls his haert out and AK wolud have done better than Bhajji .Also i feel Pathancould have done better than Robin opening the batting .

Well thats past and i think India may as well board the flight because Bangladesh wont lose to Bermuda .

1. Uthappa will play. He is a one of the best flat track bullies.
2. Kumble will be out of ODIs. Let him pay tests. He would have been taken apart if he bowled to Sri Lankans. He was taken apart by Sri Lankans in the past even in his prime.
3. Pathan sucks. 10-0-75-0 would have been his figures if he statred instead of Zaheer.

Sri Lanka are looking very good at the moment and the big show AusSmile  v Saf tonight will give us a very good idea of what may be what.
The one downside to the Sri Lanka is that the win that they carry forward to the Super 8's will be against the Bangers, who most sides will have a good chance of beating. The same with the Windies. NZ and whoever wins tomorrows big match will be in a very, very strong position.

Well i didn't necessarily mean to say that Pathan would play instead of Zaheer did i ?Kumble may have done a better job because the pitch didn't offer much spin and his accuracy would have surely helped .Again I did not say that Bhajji did a bad job .

Well it's not surprising that the people in India have started to express their anger for the Indian team. India should have definately been able to make it to the super8 as well as Pak. Did anyone predict them not making it to that stage??? The lose against Sri Lanka was still acceptable in a way because they were playing against worthy opposition but they should never have let Bangladesh beat them. Anyway what's done can't be undone so if Bermuda does not beat Bangladesh then they Indians will have to go on and the competition will have to continue without two of the Asian teams that we expected to advance to the other stage of the competition.

Indians have made me proud today. LOL. Once again their destiny lies in another teams hands. Our last hope is Bermuda. Hopefully Leverock will be big enough for Bangladesh.

I have to say Dravid has really made me happy. He fought a lone battle throughout without anyone helping him. He did his job inspite of cramps and stuff. Sehwag did his bit but could have done more.

The Indian team don't have the guts to kill their coach and I'm sure that a Pakistani player did not kill the coach. Maybe some bookie. But Chappell is safe enough and some of my friends are saying that he is happy that we lost because he is taking 10 million dollars or something. . He just should not go to India now. Straight to Australia to be safe from direct abuse.

Just keep the hope alive......Hey maybe those Indian batsmen could give the Bermudans some lessons and who knows maybe even the bowlers like Agarkar and Kumble could give the inexperienced Bermudan bowlers some hints.

Well its simple isn't it when you are set you should finish off the game rather than waiting for the next batsman to come in ad do it but Sehwag's attitude was shown again in that situation .He threw his wicket away ad then we had the famous Indian collapse .7 batsman didn't do the job so Rahul will you be looking to play 11 next time ?LOL
