Only Laker and Kumble achieved that feat of 10 in an inning.

Murali is obsessed with getting guys out bowler. He always pitches his doosra outside leg so it can spin on and hit the stumps, and with his offie he tries to get it to spin on to the stumps. Murali gets no caught behinds, he go this first caught behind in a test in the series versus India 05/06 !!!!!!!

Yep, a few tests ago for Murali, absolutely amazing.. Warne, MacGill who are to big turners of the ball aswell have quite a few Caught behinds..so it is a big surprise. It defiantely has to do with the lines he bowls and also the amount of doosras he bowls (MacGill and Warne turn the ball away from the right hander generally)

Infact there is no surprise, offspinners get their wickets by bowled or LBW, where as if they have or allowed Doosra then there is a posibility of of gettin caught behind or stumps, infact its easier to play an offspinner compared to a leggie. The most round the leg bowled outs have been achieved by warne, and I don't think thats a crime as its within the rules and he turns the ball so much.

Definately not a crime, but you would think Murali SHOULD have more Caught behinds...If you think about if left handers are not taht uncommon these days...4 of he 7 top order batsmen in Aust. are lefties.

But we all know the controversies with murali in australia, if the matches were played on even fields he would have been more successful, otherwise he doesnt get too many lefties to bowl at, infact he is unfortunate to have bowled to righties more.

All of those are very good strong Australian batsmen. Its as if the foundation of the team is of left-handers .

This is no doubt that stupidest thread I have ever seen! How in the world can you compare Murali with Harbajhan? Muralitharan is one of the finest spinners in history...and one of the most controversial ones as well!

i totally agree with the above, the only similarity bhaje has with murali is that they were both accused of chucking..........! otherwise murali is ranked way above bhajees and kumble's and can only be compared with all time great spinners like shane warn or abdul qadir. |

i said forget the records and count it on one on one, now, forget your memories of murali or harbhi, just one on one. stil i think murali would just nick it but it would be closer.

I would never rate Kumble upthere, with 500 wickets he deserves a mention, but some how whenever spin greats will be recalled his name would be way down, why , I can't say?

He is one of the most successful bowlers in history and only the 4th man to get 500 wickets and one of a few Indians to get to that magic milestone of 100 tests. Ability wise he is not a great bowlers, he is efficient and uses clever changes of pace , flight and bounce to get wickets..rather then spin, drift and guile.
He is not a great spinner (the term spinner in use, he CAN barely spin the ball)
He is a wonderful BOWLER and innovative but not a great spinner no.
He is still in my books a guy you would want in your side and he complements Harbajhan beautifully with the OFF SPIN - LEG CUT combo.

How did Bhajji even come that close. I thoght that he would lose with 0 votes. The stupidest thread ever produced in the history of the Earth. It's like comparing Bradman to Mohammed Yousuf. I know that Tousuf is one of the grat batsman of today but still guys come on even Tendulkar is nothing compared to Bradman. I know that you meant one on one warnester, but still Murlitharan spins the ball more has more variation.
