Masuri are over-rated. Albion Test Series Elite helmets are the BEST there is. Ive heard Masuri helmets dont even meet the safety standards so thats a bit worrying for starters. Plus Albion have an AWESOME reputation for producing world class protective equipment. But yeh the Albion Test Series Elite is a top quality helmet and much better than the basic masuri helmet. The only reason i would consider a masuri is lightweight but for this u have to get the titanium grill which costs another $100 so its just not worth it.

Very funny, absorbs impact very well? hoed you test that out!? WOW i never knew there was such a difference in helmets. To me, i just go for something that fits, (isn't too tigh and hard to put on, but doesnt fall back or tilt), something that lets me see alot, and doesnt block the sides of my vision, and weight. Too light is freaky tho Very funny. meh, so the final verdict. What is a good helmet for me? I am an bowling all rounder, who opens batting or plays late-middle order. I generally prefer to run between wickets and rush for twos and threes. If it's anyhting im tall, and my star sign in capricorn. =P EDIT: oh yeah! im 14 Very funny... Edited by cheech |

When you buy one from a proper cricket store they have to fit it to your head to make sure you get the right size. This is great because you know that it wont be jiggling around on your head when your running or playing a big shot. Its definately not rocket science and for many of us a helmet is just a helmet.

Average. Buy a helmet off a company that specialises in that area. Woodworm are a bat maker foremost. Albion are the way to go.

i have a masuri and a albion.. never been hit in the head with either. but the albion has more protection and padding but i wear my masuri more because its lighter and it fits better on me. A helmet i find is more of a confidence thing. Ive batted without several times and i dont play pull shots or horizontal bat shots with it because im not condident and see my self backing away. Where as with a helmet they are my best shots. But i cant say which is more protective but i highly rate both of them. |

You should try a Albion test elite (AU$105) or club helmet (AU$65) a little expexsive but worth it. Or have you heard of the coldie helmets. Good design. They specially designed it so you can pull off the screw on top and put can put in a gel pack or icecubes! Really cools you down! (AU$39) But the guard only has 2 bars across
