Played my 2020 game and we had another big win.  Made 239 and won by over 160 runs.

I made 10 opening, felt in wonderful form and made some excellent cover drives but they started out with a guy at deep extra cover and I got caught there.  If I had gone after it hard instead of pushing it, it would have been an easy 6.  My only error of my innings cost me.  I didn't get a bowl either.

Had a cracker of a game. Only 5 test players showed up. Asim Kamal, KhurramManzoor, Mohammad Waseem, Sami and Khaleel. My team batted first and we scored a respectable 256 in 40 overs. I batted at number 6 and made a brisk 41 off 28 balls faced. The opponent team batted very well for the first half of the inning when their openers posted a 132 runs stand, which was broken by a run out. I ripped the middle order and took 5-17. Just loved getting 3 test players out!!!

Yes zuhair, excellent stuff that.  Seems like you can handle the bat too.  If it's because of the pitch is good for batting, it means you're still something good with the ball as a fifer isn't easy on lifeless tracks especially against quality batsmen.  I hope you have age on your side because I've noticed Pakistan don't really select much old guys. (not Sledger old ofcourse )

Thanx mates. No buddy, I do not have age on my side if we talk about Pakistan tradition. I will be 26 soon. And I only play it Saturday & Sunday. I do not play it professionally, that is why I have no chance of making it. Mohammad Waseem gifted me his bat, which he used in his innings of 192 against Zimbabwe long time back. I now have cricket bats of 3 test players, not great ones but I am still hapy to keep them. Hasan Raza, Rashid Latif and now Mohammad Waseem.

The pitch was fine to bat on, but the opposite team did not have quality spinners. For my advantage, 5 of their top batters were left handers, which helped me a lot, as I just loved bowling to the lefties.

Well, you still shouldn't give up. 26 is quite young although you're right by Pakistan tradition, that's not young.  Anyhow, didn't that Ajmal just start and he's 30?

Nice use of the word little mate, you got to leave the more dangerous slaps to the younger folks like Harbhajan. %20%20%20

Had a 2-day game this weekend and it ended with us winning by default!  We were to play at a venue that historically has the worse pitch on the Island but this weekend was different, a different groundsman and a much better looking pitch that looked like runs on it and ofcourse, it would have helped the spinners too but we ended up not getting to use it.

Two weeks on a straight we have lost and won by default and both of the pitches looked for some very good Cricket and we missed out, sadly!

Have a big 2020 game this weekend.  It will be between 2 teams that are sponsored by the 2 ferry rivals back here.  My team sponsor boat usually wins the battle on the water and we have won the race on the Cricket field too but it's another day approaching and another battle and it will be spiced up.  The opposition hasn't played that well this season but they're definitely much stronger for this game as they have brought in about 4 players.  Their bowling attack is good, from what i've heard will be playing as I've played with or against them before.

I'll be opening the batting and I had practice yesterday and was hitting them well before I missed one and got lbw.  Should be my first 2020 bowl of the season too!

Had a T20 game on Wednesday and we racked up 146-6 off our 20 overs. I made just 9 before trying to hit one over extra cover for 6, I got a decent piece of it but it went too high and I was out caught. We got them out for about 100, but they never really looked in it because they were about 35-5 after 10 overs so we just started messing around (we're a very professional T20 team). It was a cup game so we're through the first round, if we win 6 more games then we go through to the nationals so we're still quite a long way away and we ahve much better teams to play.

Well, I'm just back from my 2020 game and man, watch a game it was.  We loss the toss and we inserted to bat.  We got 214 from the 20 overs.  I opened and made 55, anchoring the innings was my role.

The other team got off to a flyer, within 4 overs, they were already pass 75.  I came on and brought us back in the game by taking a 6-fer.  Got that for about 35 runs.  I got smack for a few sixes unleashing my share of bad balls as is expected when you're such a young leggy as I am but inbetween those, I bowled some very wonderful deliveries.  I took down the first 6 wickets and we ended up restricting them to 168 all out in 17 overs.

This is just why some teams are champions, never give up under pressure.  The other team played unsensibly.  After that kind of start, they should have eased it down a bit.  I'm such a good bowler when people are attacking me so they really made a mistake.

Sad that Milky, I'm already 19! And I forgot to mention I got a hat trick, the 2nd of the tournament since it started 3 years ago.  My first ever.

I will edit my statement. I'll be expecting to see your name in the W.I.'s World Cup Squad for 2011. They can't do any worse. Bloke who opens the batting and makes runs, takes hattricks and 6 wicket hauls and bowls spin, a dead art in the West Indies.

Dead right Milky. I just hope spiny that you won't forget to log in to the forum once you are a celebrity.

Had a 25 over a side match yesterday. Won it pretty easily. Took 3 wickets, did not get to bat. The opposite team was relatively weak. Did not enjoy much. But I took a catch which everyone who saw it there termed as the best they have ever seen. Even I could not believe that I had taken it. I was at the first slip. Our attack bowler was bowling (he bowls around 145-150 kph)to a LHB. It was a short ball. he edged it towards the second slip and I somehow wet flying and was airborne when I took it with my left hand which happens to be wrong side.

Shades of Mark Waugh in the '99 WC Zuhair?  Just that it's a LHB and to your left.

Anyhow, had another 2020 game on Monday.  Cricket is such a funny game, I'm the leading run scorer for the competition (it's not that competitive) and now we're up against one of the weakest side, I could only manage 2, getting bowled to a leggy pitched outside leg that hit my left pad then on to the right then between my legs onto the stumps.  Poor judgement by me more than anything.

Anyhow, with my turn with the ball, I was rather lucky and unlucky but more unlucky, if that makes sense.  The 2 bad balls I bowled in my 3 over spell, not one run came off but off better deliveries, I had to drop catches and 2 miss stumpings.  I bowled pretty well and I have a very sharp faster ball, pretty much like how Afridi can crank them up way into the 70's.  I finished off my spell with a googly, bowled wider of the crease and slow and flighted and the batsman can be very thankful that the box was invented.

Yep, that one's more like it!  Strauss should have been charged for that catch, his arms somehow or the other stretched and became longer and took a blinder of a catch.

Yer that was a ripper. First time in that series Gilly looked good with the bat and then Strauss pulls one out like that to dismiss him for 49, and what was to be his highest score of the series. Fantastic catch.

My teammates said it was just a bit better than they have ever seen in slip catching. I must admit I am not that good a fielder...it really was a one-off thing

I guess when people saw Collingwood take that catch to dismiss Hayden in 2005, or McGrath's diving catch in the 02/3 Ashes they said the same thing...

Count yourself lucky zuhair, not much people can brag of pulling off blinders.  I can't recall taking any, the closest I get is taking some bullet of return catches but those are pretty straight forward.
