The moment I say "Pak will be tougher to beat than Aus", people look at me as if I have said something sinister. It's quite amazing really.I have to say, never in my life have I seen excitement about a game as much as this. not even when India were in the finals in 2003.

Yes the excitement and frenzy is just building up. One things for sure the productivity of both countries is gonna reduce on the 30th. Lots of sick leaves, half days expected. And those who expect it to be a cakewalk hasn't put on his cricket hat on.

Pakistan has a wonderful story going on for them. The build up to their WC was absolutely shambolic. No other team but Pakistan I tell you would've been capable of such a comeback . They turn out in their best attire whenever everyone writes them off. Its been a fairytale for them so far really. And have got this bad feeling that its not gonna end here.

Yes India still the favourite going into the match but we all know that counts for nothing here. If any, whenever the two teams have met at the WC previously the odds were in Pakistan's favour. Like Imran Khan, I do feel this tag of favourite will be a lot more added pressure on them Indians, like it was for Pakistan previously.

Damn! I will still have cricinfo and can watch the 2nd half but that is not good enough. Unhappy

Sam, you can watch the games on the net, it's what I do at work when West Indies and India are playing.  I don't do it for all the games because that would make me not do much work he he.

And I don't think India is a team to let pressure get to them.  I find all this talk about pressure of tournament favourites to be a lot of nonsense.  Champions don't feel pressure like that!

Live streaming is not allowed at work Spinny, again the last client I worked for was US based and on their network it was allowed but not now when I'm working for an Indian client.

India - Pakistan should be a good game, I really do not think any one team can be singled out as favorites here, there is absolutely no reason I find why Pak can't win, neither is there a reason why India can't win, the team that plays better on the day will win, and God willing it will be the team I want to win! You can watch the matches Live at ESPNSTAR.com ie. if allowed. Also the end of the financial year making it even difficult to bunk work. Still trying to summon the courage to break a bone.

On other news the black marketing of tickets for the IndoPak game has got really ugly. 250rs ticket sold at 25000rs. 10000-15000Rs tickets being sold at a mind boggling 1lakh Rupees. Apparently one has already been arrested. Cops have send out warning signals too against the selling or buying of black tickets.
Speaking of which is there anyone out here who would be attending the game.

The black market flourishes everywhere and while people are prepared to pay ludicrous amounts for big match tickets , it always will be with us.
Personally I have no problem with it - if someone has a ticket and wants to cash in , then he should be allowed to do it. What needs cracking down on is the supply of counterfeit tickets and ticketing scams on the internet - they are criminal and the culprits need jailing.

Thanks mate. Yes hoping to have a great time there. Would not want a repeat of my previous and only visit to India. Not great memories attached. But I am truly excited about this one. Leaving for the airport in three hours time!!

Oh its not the hype. No hype required for this one spin.
This much-anticipated match will bring life in the two countries to a standstill as passion, expectation and simply 'want for victory' will reach at its crescendo.

For the organisers and advertisers its the match of their dreams, for the cricket histarians and analysts its already historic encounter. For the fans its the match they just can't stand , unlike any other, to see their country on the losing side.

Those outside the two teams cannot possibly imagine the amount of pressure the players will be under to win this one match – for many, THE final before the real final.

Cricket is what bonds Pakistan and India! Hopefully, win or loss, we don't see riots or the sort after the match.

Yesterday's game saw all the who's who of Indian celebrities, from the film fraternity to politicians.. from the PM's and delegates to billion dollar business men.

Really enjoyed watching Sonia Gandhi(Leader of the Ruling Party) and Isha Sharvani ( Actress and Zaheer's ex - lucky ******). Both were very child like and a lil too crazy.. Isha very much herself, But a very not so usual Mrs Gandhi

Thank goodness the reactions by the Pakistani fans have been pretty sedate! Humble in defeat the Pakistanis and Afridi truly led from the front with his magnificent bowling. It's a shame that stalwarts like Misbah and Younis were so lethargic and lazy. Also, in my view, Abdul Razzaq was disappointing. The man is full of talent, with bat and ball, but he's just lost potency. I don't know what it is... someone like him needed to be batting at 6 for Pakistan and making 40s and 50s consistently. Shoaib was also a wasted selection in the squad... he lost his touch, he knew it and retired. Selection probably cost Pakistan the World Cup. Batting is Z-grade at time.

Well cricket in India is like a religion and that was a major game for India so it's understandable that so many popular personalities attended. they must have been overjoyed with India's victory. That was probably the biggest game of the tournament so far!

The 2011 CWC has been a sponsor's delight with the ad rates soaring to record heights for a cricket match in the Ind/Pak semi-finals costing 17-18 Lakhs for 10 seconds(monumental increase considering it was @ 3.5Lakhs/10secs when the tournament started).
Apparently the finals expected to fetch 25 Lakhs per 10secs.

The TRP/TVR/TAM ratings have been really good with the highest avg TVR for all matches recorded upto the QF not surprisingly being the IND/AUS one at 12.34 TVR.

Agreed Zuhair. If you refer back to my comments I make it very clear that he is full of talent and that he should have batted higher at most stages. To be frank, Pakistan's batting leaves a lot to be desired and Razzaq is a natural talent - capable of making decent scores. His bowling used to be his forte, but he's lost pace and penetration, thus his batting should be utilised more effectively. To achieve this, he need to be given 5 overs to get his eye in, and then the rest of the innings to play shots. Batting past the 40 over mark seldom brings about the best out of him.
I rate him in both forms of the game, Pakistan need him, but they just don't know how to use him.
He's not an opening bowler and he's not a number 8 batsman. He's a guy you'd give 8 overs to in the middle of the innings, a bloke who can get the ball to reverse swing, and someone who should bat in the top 6.

Following stats of Sri Lanka is very impressive.

2003 Champions Trophy - Joint winners
2003 WC - SFs
2007 WC - Runners up
2009 T20 WC - Runners up
2010 T20 WC - SFs
2011 WC - Runners up

And they are curretly ranked 3 in ODIs and 4 in Tests. No reason why this team cannot be no.1 in both forms of the game.

SL lack a solid lower middle order and their fast bowling is weak. Malinga is a bit fragile for test cricket and the other quicks are either mediocre or lack that special zing you need to be good at this level.
Since Sanga won't be captain anymore perhaps he may keep wicket again? That would allow another batsman to play. I rate him as a keeper, as long as he doesn't appeal too much !!!! Does get somewhat annoying

another poor example of an Indian not being able to take anything good written about our neighbor country.

also a case of very poor analogy, dragging results from 2003, leaving out 2009 CT, and while on one had it was a case of a young team trying to make an impact, this is the case of a team that has already peaked.

having said all that SLN have a very good team but I doubt if they can be the best in the world in both the formats, most of their players as I said have gone past their peak and  unless they unearth some good young talent, they'd struggle to do be the best.

Not an example of not being able to take anything good written about the neighbouring country Sam. Case of someone not able to digest the world cup victory of their own country. Otherwise I don't see any reason for talking about the no.1 test ranking which is totaly out of context at this point of time.

I understand the disappointment of the fans when their side is on the losing side, as I myself have experienced it many a times. Did you see mee posting any teasing/sarcastic  responses to the fans of their country when we won the WC?

Had it been Zuhair/Kahmad/Shan or someone posting about their team's long term objectives, I would have either added any positive comments or kept quite if I had nothing to add. Here is a case of supporting the team because of religious bias. And I am afraid, this is not the way it should be.
