Why do you have to do that? Why not just let me be under my 'false pretensions' that PK has overnight transformed into this mighty untouchable swing master . Well I guess your right, no other reason why he could find success where the likes of Gul and Riaz din't enjoy much recently.

I'll also add bounce to that list of swing and spin, as Ishant showed yesterday and throughout the Test series. To be honest the pitch was tailor-made for him and he exploited it well, also mixed it well with the fuller inswingers , the off and leg cutters. He's getting better at his variations without losing control. Augurs well for the future of this attack that he finding his form. Ricky should start getting worried right about now I'll say.

The game's evenly poised with India probably just ahead in what remains a low scoring affair. I didn't get to see any of yesterday's play but was surprised to see that after less than 6 overs the Windies had conceded 12 extras !

Yes and it has been a gripping contest between bat and ball through and through from whatever limited crikcet on show. Shame though that this match would probably end as a draw. Don't think we would get even 90overs from the remaining two days. A word on Marlon Samuel. Finally starting to do some semblance of justice to his talent, that Steve Waugh so fondly used to rave about. Yesterday he definitely showed how its to be done on such strips, played it so late and with soft hands and more importantly curbed his attacking instincts very well. Surely deserved a century.

Ah! A Stalemate !! But nonetheless a lively one. Thanks mainly to MS Dhoni for his good positive declaration to make a match out of it. Went out all attack for the first hour of the last innings leaving a lot of gaps and open spaces and tempting the Windies with a lot scoring opportunities. The runs did come thick and fast until they lost three quick wickets. Full marks to him for captaincy.
Who knows would have well had a result if bad light had not ended the day eleven overs early.
Bravo to Darren too for his fabulous knock. Though he did seem to get a little worked up whenever he was tied down for long periods and needed a release shot to lower the pressure, unlike a Shiv or a Dravid who've got no qualms on being stagnant for long periods. Fortunately for Bravo he was capable of getting those timely release shot to the fence.
The only slightest possible criticism (of the Indians) would be, they were too slow to get those runs on Day 4 (less than 2.5 rpo). Agreed the wicket was tough and the out-field slow, but the fact that they managed just a little over 200 despite losing only three wickets doesn't sit best with me. Not disappointed though, not at all.
So we head to Dominica with the series still alive. Good stuff!!

A tense finish and a fair result methinks. I see that Sarwan has been discarded again , surely for the last time ? Anything's possible with a West Indies selection panel , but Sarwan's attitude just seems irresponsible. I can't see India losing though , Dravid just keeps going and Laxman's looking very good again he'll enjoy England later on this summer!

I think its becuz they are used to get fast starts with Sehwag and Gambhir plus Tendulkar scores freely so without 3 of them India will always struggle with the run rates.

Do onto Dominica they go, a place with a river for each day of the year. It's a magnificently lush green place. The pitch can be lively there at times with a sheen on it but generally doesn't seam around. Only thing for the Indians to worry about is the pace and bounce. Knowing the groundsmen here, it's high unlikely that they will make them like that so often.

Munaf all set to take Mithun's place in the third and final test. Other than being more experienced he more importantly gets through his overs at a decent pace, which will be on the back of most player's minds. Ideally would've wanted Mishra in. But the pitch, like @Barbados , again heavily tilted towards the pacers.
Last chance probably for many of the youngsters to show their mettle and take the pressure off Dravid and Laxman. Also Dhoni and Bhajji's form a big worry.

India chasing 180 in about 49 overs, this should be fun!

It was anything but!!!
What a shame. They called off the game needing 86 runs in 15 overs - seven wickets in hand - Dhoni and Kohli waiting in the hut - two guys of million years of experience at the crease - world champions - world number 1 test team - and the captain says we did not want to risk loosing the series. Stinks.

with the series in the bag Dhoni is not the type of guy who would have risked it Zuhair. In fact his "sportive" declaration in the second test actually surprised me because it is not often that Dhoni would do such a thing. That doesn't mean he is not a good captain, it is just that he plays it safe first.
I'm sure had the series been anything like 0-0 or 1-1 then India would have gone for it.

West Indies ain't a push over anymore. Best bowling attack we have had for some donkey years now!! Sadest thing is, Rampaul, Edwards has a blighted injury career. Edwards is really good once he manage to stay fit. And can you imagine, half a player Sammy got Dravid's wicket twice! haha

Yes Zuhair Absolutely true, a Shame indeed. All the applause that he'd received for his bravado declaration in the second test has pretty much been nullified by the backlash for this submissive act of resignation.
"One is truly defeated, not when he fails but, when he gives up without trying."
Was utterly disappointed by it. Not only has he dishonored the No.1 status but disrespected the game and belittled the fans. Agreed the pitch and outfield may not have been conducive but what the harm in trying. It would've to be the height of pessimism to do it out of the fear of a loss.
Would a Steve Waugh , Imran Khan or a Saurav Ganguly settled for an early draw? Why don't think a Shewag would've allowed than to happen were he in the team.

Yes and special commendation to the Windies, Chanderpaul and Kirk Edwards for their resilient fightback. What a time to get their first 300+ score of the season. Well Done!! Particularly pleased with Edwards playing his first test and passing the toughest of tests in flying colors. What a sensational innings that. The lad can sure pull a cricket ball. Along with Bravo, Barath, Bishoo could be the embodiment of a bright strong phase for Caribbean cricket many years down the line or maybe even sooner. fingers crossed
