Piece of cake for the Boks and India will have to regroup , they aren't playing against a spineless Sri Lanka.

This was the only day game , the rest are all day/nighters - beware of the dew factor !!!

Titan , Bokkie , Smithy , can you tell me what the SA selectors see in Ontong - he's distinctly average!!

Hey I'm a south afrian supporter as well! But yeah, I don't know what they
see in Ontong, he hasn't performed once, or at least not that I've seen.
My two favourite Batsmen:
Jacques Kallis is a very solid but destructive batsmen and not to mention he can bowl as well.
I also like Michael Clarke for his amazing batting talent at such a young age

They're not touring as they fear they'll be arrested by the Indian police after match-fixing allegations in the past.

Oh, i see. But i thought the ICC dealt with match fixing allegations and things. i didn't know the police could get involved and arrest a player for match fixing. why is it illegal to match fix??

Gibbs has served his time, banned by the ICC but the Indian police seem to think they can continue their own enquiries so he won't tour as he doesn't believe nothing will happen to him. No-one seems to know why they want to question Boje though.

Herschelle Gibbs, Nicky Boje and Pieter Strydom, along with Hansie Cronje, were all accused of match fixing by the Indian police in April, 2000.

The reason match fixing is illegal, is that large sums of money can be extracted from bookmakers, and that's fraud.

ohhh, alright, now i get it. So this is a big loss to SA. herschelle gibbs averages 48.35 against india in ODIs. that's impressive and so that's a big loss to SA.

2nd ODI:

South Africa are bowled out for 169, Pathan doing the damage early before the spinners restricted South Africa to very little indeed. We'll see if they can defend it shortly.

As long as the Indian batting doesn't collapse like it did in the first match India will easily chase down 169.

Great bowling by India. Pathan taking 3 wickets, Harbajhan and Sehwag taking 2 each, and Agarkar and Yuvraj taking one each. Kartik also did a great job, he bowled 10 overs and only conceded 16 runs. That's great bowling from India.

Brilliant start from the South Africans, India are just 17/1 off of 9 overs with Tendulkar out. Gambhir 11 (28) and Pathan 4 (5) are the not out batsmen. We could still have a thriller on our hands here and one thing is for sure: The Springboks are not going to let that unbeaten record go without a fight.

Yea, SA are trying to fight back into the match. India are finally speeding up the run chase. They are at 35 for 1 after 13 overs. So they are still playing too slow.

India have taken control, Sehwag has 58 from 54 balls and they are 148/3 of 32 overs

Sehwag helps india level the series. India have chased down their target in 35.4 overs. Sehwag not out on 77 and Yuvraj not out on 4. The Man of The Match is Irfan Pathan for taking 3 wickets and a fine 37.

Go to www.cricinfo.com

Over there you can find the match results, the scorecards, and everything else.

You'll do well to get hold of a legal recording, I have enough trouble with people coming on here to advertise these things as it is.

We don't want video trading threads, keep it to PMs from now on.

So SA well beaten by India after losing the toss !! Smith is on record (BBC) saying the toss was crucial - that backs up what I was saying last week !!

Great minds think alike - silly game , one day cricket!

So SA's winning streak ends 1 short of the biggest winning streak held by australia (21 wins in a row) at 20 wins in a row. Very, very impressive stuff from SA.

I don't know which team won the toss in either game but as far as I know the team who batted first collapsed and the team fielding first won. So maybe, the captain that wins the toss in the next game should select to field.

That was a splendid show by India on 2nd odI , creating much more curiosity in the third ODI.I guess this time too Indians will effectively make use of the chennai pitch and put SA in trouble. But there is fear of rain washing out the pitch .So never no where the match will be dragged. Both teams need  to play with a solid pre-plans.

Yea, which ever team wins this match will take the lead in the series and will have advantage heading into the last 2 ODIs. So this is an important win for both teams. Hopefully it will be a close and hard fought match, instead of one team just collapsing and letting the otehr team take the win.
