Thanks buddy. I've written an article about the world cup and would really like you guys to read and let me know what you think about it, but I am unable to post the link to that article. It got edited and removed by the moderators.

I mean the moderators may well have a good reason for that too; after all, we don't want this forum to become some sort of a channel for advertising!

HA, good one. Nah do have a full 7 month season. Starts in 3 weeks, and goes throughout the winter and into the spring.

And you got to get out doors man, don't mind if it means you might have to face up to the likes of Lee if they decide to make a club appearance.

Thanks man, but my days of outdoor are pretty much done. Too busy these days being "old"  . I did go back a couple of years ago to play for a uni side in district cricket, and broke batting records and won player of the year, and had a lot of fun doing it, but it took a lot of time that I dont really have. Well, thats my excuse for the time being. Are most guys here just fans, or are most still playing some form of cricket ??

Welcome to all the newbies, this is a good forum here.

Genuine muppet, quite a few off us here are still active in Cricket.  Zuhair has played some decent amount of Cricket against a bit of Pakistan cricket team players.  I do train with some of the players from the Windward Islands first class team (the ones from St. Vincent).

Welcome the new comers - I think some of the guys here still play some cricket at a decent level - but a few are just too old to pick the bat up

Will be great for the forum if you guys contribute regularly and sensibly of course and keep the place alive.

Hello Cricket People! I have a newfound interest in cricket since I was asked to play the role of Jack Fingleton in a new play about the 'Bodyline' series which opens at the Nottingham Playhouse in September.
I've just started reading Greg Growden's biography on Fingleton and it's a fantastic read. Can anyone suggest any other books on the bodyline series which they found particularly insightful? Cheers. @DamienWS

Hi Damien, Bodyline Autopsy by David Frith is the definitive book on the series, and is a wonderful tome. Fingleton himself was also a prodigious writer.

Hi Clobber. Yeah, that's definitely on my list. I'm reading Greg Growden's biography of Fingleton at the moment which is a huge insight. I've ordered a few of Fingleton's books already. He wrote about ten of the blighters!
