YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A fantastic performance by Pietersen , ably backed up by Collingwood and Bell on a perfect pitch and small boundaries! An interview with Sledger will be forthcoming after we find which den of inequity he's getting sloshed in !!!

If it is not to late I would like to swap Flemming with H.Marshall, and keep the same team for Saturday. The new Captain will be Chris Cairns.

For both games I would like to use just my frontline bowlers if possible.

Sorry for been late!

No worries Titan. I'll run the games shortly.

As there are games to be run tomorrow, it would be good if those of you who aren't around at the weekend could select their teams today.

A reminder of injuries: Arnold, Sangakkara (SL), van der Wath (SA), Fleming (NZL)

After the stunning run chase by England , that looks to have killed off the world champs ambitions for this tournament , a beaming Sledger has announced his side to take on the very dangerous Indians tomorrow. Andrew Strauss is battling with the slow wickets and that sees the return of skipper , Michael Vaughan. A clearly rusty Simon Jones gives way to a really charged up Stephen Harmison , otherwise the side is unchanged.

The side to face the Indians is :-

1) M.Trescothick
2) M.Vaughan (capt)
3) M.Prior (wkt)
4) K.Pietersen
5) A.Flintoff
6) P.Collingwood
7) I.Bell
8) I.Blackwell
9) L.Plunkett
10) S.Harmison
11) J.Anderson

Matt Prior will retain the number 3 spot as England try yet again to get a start in this competition.

New Zealand responded to the earlier results by yet again stamping their authority on this tournament. The loss of Fleming hardly showed, as on a bowling friendly day, Pakistan were obliterated for 161 before Nathan Astle led the side home to win by 6 wickets.

New Zealand on fire

Points: New Zealand, South Africa 12; England 9, West Indies 6, Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan 3

Nothing seems to go right in this Super8.

But i'll retain the same team for the final match.

You've got 3 games left ramzi, Pakistan tomorrow, New Zealand on Monday and then Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Still time for you to turn it round.

Come on! Knock the aussie's out and show them they can't win everything! (no offence to the aussie manager of course)
County Sim on extended break until I've got less work and more free time. When I have a specific date, I'll post it in the thread.

You're playing India on Monday, I shall post injuries after Saturdays games, so there's little point in giving me your team yet anyway.

Just when you thought it was all decided.....these results go and play themselves out:

India clinch a thriller to beat England by 5 runs

Freddie can't quite do it

New Zealand collapse, then Sri Lanka almost collapse but Atapattu guides them home

Scorecard

Australia set a big target, which Pakistan do ever so well to get close to, but can't quite win.

Inzy just missed his hundred

So the points, and with two games for everyone to play, it's very open:

New Zealand, South Africa: 12 points

England: 9 points

India, Australia, Sri Lanka: 6 points

Pakistan: 3 points

Injuries for the final 2 super 8 games:

Lewis, Bradshaw (West Indies)

Agarkar, Patel (India)

Steyn (South Africa)

Monday: RSA v ENG, PAK v SRI, WIN v IND, AUS v NZL

Tuesday: WIN v ENG, AUS v SRI, IND v PAK, NZL v RSA

Sorry, you have 6 points, missed them off.

You play India today, you have injuries to Bradshaw and Lewis.

Games to be played later as not all teams have been named yet.
