I'm not sure what you mean - once ramzi picks his 18, you are free to pick any Australian player he hasn't picked. Provided he is under 40, of course.
|
I mmean if he picks Ponting then can i pick him?
btw can we pick old players then if u said ANY players?

No if he picks Ponting, you can't. You pick from the players he doesn't pick.
Yeah, so long as players are under 40 you can pick them. Bear in mind that the longer they've been retired, the worse they'll be though.

No, New Zealand is still the domain of Titan, minimurali.
Ireland, Zimbabwe, Kenya are the biggest nations not yet taken.
We currently only have A teams for Australia, and England.
Clobber, the stats of retired players are determined by age, amount of games played and how long they've been retired.
For example, Titan bought Roger Twose out of retirement, and his batting average of 39 dropped to 19, due to being 37 years old, and having been retired for 5 years.
Once players are past 35, their average does go up/down a lot. You could probably take an estimate and say the difference is about 10-20 points.
EDIT: I use a spreadsheet to work this out - lots of hlookups and things.

Well the mighty Blues got a right slap last week mate!!
But you're spot on with the Crusaders - they'll win the competition in a canter (or should that be a Carter!!)

Update on who we have confirmed:
PREMIER: South Africa, India, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, West Indies, Bangladesh
FIRST: Pakistan, England A, France, Afghanistan, Australia A (if minimurali decides to carry them on)
Hopefully, I can get this started in around 10 days, after the World Cup is finished.

By the way, there is a vacancy at the West Indies, which I don't think I made clear before.

France stun the cricketing world by drawing with Sri Lankan XI
Sri Lanka 432/1 (Zoysa 229*, Dilshan 137*) and 178/0 (Muralithuran 83*, Zoysa 80*)
France 247 (Pascal 50, Herath 7-90) and 180/6 (S Hussain 53, Herath 6-71)
I couldn't make Jayasuriya and Herath open as it messed the game up.
P.S: Warnester, I wouldn't worry too much about this result, I just ran a game with the normal Sri Lanka team and Jayasuriya got 384*, Sri Lanka 573/0 declared and won by an innings and 267 runs. Seeing as they lost no wickets, they technically won by 2 innings!

Well, I have to say I was impressed with my boys. Sri Lanka played an experimental team, and it is quite fair to say that opening with Murali and Zoysa slowed their run rate to a crawl which enabled us to battle for a draw. There were some encouraging batting performances, but it is clear we can't bowl for croissants. |

thanks JP!
After that game warnester said:
"I was very pleased with this result as i was expecting an innings loss, even with my best batsmen opening. Murali was exceptional, but not up to his usual average of 187.64, zoysa was dissapointing and really should have made 3 or 4 hundred not out. But thats just the way it is. I am very much looking forward to our friendly against afghanistan"

Australia A is all yours - minimurali is staying with the Windies, I believe.
DIVISION 1 is now looking a bit more full:
Pakistan, France, England A, Zimbabwe, Australia A

Absolutely right, once ramzi has picked his squad, you pick yours from any Australian players he hasn't, provided they are under 40 years old.
I'm looking to get started with squad selection when the World Cup is done, yes, or even before if people want to.

Sadly not Clobber, although there ought to be a few very decent players who he doesn't pick, so it'll be interesting.
There is nothing stopping you picking your squads whenever you like, but the World Cup is still running and most of you are involved with that too.
Plus, I want to give those who are managing A teams enough time to pick their squads after the main squads have been picked. It wouldn't be fair to give ramzi a week to decide his squad and moongoat a day.
Do remember when picking squads that it will last all season, and two wicket-keepers must be selected.

Hi Jp
I would like to resign as coach of NZ for the Test cricket sim, I had a good time with the blokes but would like to move closer to home.
Therefore I am officialy applying for the SA A job!
I know Blackcap and Minimurali was interested at one stage to take NZ.
Do you know if the Bird is still around?I see he is the head coach of the SA team.So I will have to wait for him to select his squad first.
How will you workout the avg for the A teams, most players has only played first class cricket and some only a few test matches, so these players test avg will be poor, will you look at test avg and first class avg?
I don't know about you but lets get the show starting, the coaches that is knockout of the World Cup can already name their squads!!

The Bird will be taking part, I shall PM him to let him know that we're underway (at least with squad selection) soon.
Well, I imagine you'll be able to pick a few players who have Test experience that the bird doesn't pick but otherwise, FC average is taken - the more FC matches a player has played, the closer it'll be to their calculated Test average, if that makes sense.
So, a vacancy for Bangladesh. Anyone?
