Take a look....i have been trying to kep the track record of Akmal's performance since  pakistan tour of england. In 10 test matches he played, he has dropped 26 catches and 7 stumpings!! i am not kidding. the figure only accounts for those misses whihc are normally known as SITTERS!!

Do you think he is any more needed  in the side?

At the moment he is really needed to escort Pakistan to victory in the second test along with Younis, after that he might be give a bit of rest, which he really needs.

Zulqarnain is with Pakistani team as a second wicket keeper Clobs. I think it's time to give him a chance. He has got a good reputation as a better keeper, not as good a batsman as is Akmal, yet it's better to have a better keeper in the team rather than a good batsman and a crap keeper

Some dilemma for the Pakistanis after his batting heroics today. His keeping was abysmal in this test but his runs were gold dust!
    A tough call indeed.

This happened wth Parthiv Patel a few years back when he was regularly dropping catches but was scoring runs but he eventually was dropped .
How good is Humayun farhat ?He is the brother of Imran but how is his keeping and batting ?Kamran has a brother (Adnan i presume) as well ,but how good a keper is he .

Right Sledger! But my choice is very clear when it comes to wicket keeping. I would definately go for the best keeper with limited batting skills rather than having a good batsman and average wicket keeping skills. It's a specialist's job and only a specialist should be doing. You cann't afford to mis chances behind the stumps, especially for the spinners who most of the times are countig on their keepers for their wickets. It can cost a good spinner his career. And the one who cannot keep well behind the stumps for a spinner is not a wicket keeper at all in my opinion. Can you afford to drop Kallis behind the stumps? just tell me can you? How the hell can you? You never can actually, or it would cost you a match. If you give away 100 odd extra runs to the opposition by missing the chances and subsequently score an odd fifty, it's not better than availing those chances and scoring odd 10/20 afterwards.

I enjoyed Pakistans victory. But on the other side it has brought such a big dilemma for us now. Kamran would have been surely dropped had he not score all those runs he somehow managed to score in the victory.

He misses it too often. He has a faulty technique for a wicket keeper. he is not one born wicket keeper. His reflexes arent that of a natural WK!! Take a close look on him whenever he collects or manages to collect the ball in his gloves!!1 The ball bounces in his gloves, he hardly ever grabs it naturally unlike all other good keepers. Furthermore, Pakistanis never had this experience of having an under par wicket keeper before. Pakistan has always enjoyed the luxury of one of the best wicket keepers in the past.

Akmal did score those runs and he has scored a few centuries, but he is not that good a batsman that we continue playing him anymore!!

adnan KAmal i have seen, is a better wicket keeper, rather he is quite natural and clean behind the stumps. humayon aint too bad either. Zulaqarnain is also decent with the bat. But Adnan among them is the better wicket keeper, though his batting is a touch lower than Kamra And Zulaqarnain.

But its high time that now we start thinking of replacing akmal before he becomes too costly for PAkistan some day. Atleast for test matches he should be dropped

What about Hameed or Khan haven't they kept before in international cricket? If so any good?

Younis infact has kept in a few matches, but hes just ordinary and ceratianly far away from test standards. Although, it wil take quite a doing to be worse than Kamran right now. Hameed i dont think has kept the wkt before.

Its high time to try a nw keeper. Even Rashid Latif yesterday has urged the board to look for a new one, he has criticized Akmal;s technique a great deal

Kamran Akmal has hard hands and isn't likely to become a competent , nevermind good , wicketkeeper in the near future.  I agree with Shan , you must pick the best gloveman and give up on the odd ton down the order. A brilliant catch at the wicket off Kaneria to dismiss a Kallis for nought has potentially saved a ton ... .....he dropped a number of straightforward catches and though Pakistan won , they could have cost them the match.

Well Kamran is the best choice for sure but he needs some time off and thats for sure as well. His batting record is also on the down in last one year. If india can drop likes of Sehwag why cant we drop kamran.

How can one know zulqaqrnain is better without giving him a chance. He deserves the chance in third test.

I can't see him being replaced in the final test. The score is 1-1 and Zulqarnain hasn't ever played a match in South Africa as far as I'm aware.
I think some serious coaching for Akmal , ongoing through until Friday is the answer.Standing up to the slow bowlers where he made the most errors is the most obvious area where he needs to improve.

yes he wont get dropped for the last test. Then there will be one days where people dont really count a lot  on keeper's performance. He will then staigh away go to the world cup and then verybody will forget his dismal time behind the stumps and he will be back playing for pkaistan in the next test assignment.
