I have a carbo, with the carbo handle. It has 9 grains and it is short handle.
Its really cool because l&w have suddenly become really popular, like you can see heaps in shops now! |

all the lavers have different qualities, like shape and willow grade, but what bats are generally the thickest? not the best but the thickest?

One of the factor the thickness of the bat would depend on the weight wouldn't it? Heavier the bat, more room wood so thicker the edges. But I also think grade 1 willow are not as dense as the other ones, since grade 1 is softer than grade 2 etc...so it would weigh less but have more wood. Again I could be wrong but from my very very limited knowlegde from reading the forums and from my other online readings that's my take on it. Also guys I will post some new pics of the bat, lets see if you like em. ![]() |

I was just wondering, say all the bats were 2'8, I think the private bin would probably be the thickest

I have just recently purchased a Laver & Wood Carbo with a oval handle. My bat is short handle standard blade with a slight bow. 8 grains and weighs 2'11". It is by far the best bat that i have owned, i used to have a Slazenger V1200 pro and it leaves it for dead. The only thing that took a bit of getting used to with the carbon tube in the handle is when playing a big shot, especially one in the air, is it feels as though the blade isn't is the right position when about to hit the ball. But after a few nets i got used to this and love it now. I was never a big hitter just a nudger that picked up the occasional boundry but with this bat the ball just cracks off. Cant wait to use it in a game Edited by wiggy |

yer every bat no matter what model it is, is custom made for you, they don't make a bat until it is ordered and they make it to how you wanted in the order, so no they don't make 'mass produced bats', You tell them what shape etc you would like and they will do it.

yup its the same bat...i dont know u guys gave it such god reviews i thought i would give it another shot..i gave it another coat of oil and took a mallet to it..tried it in the nets and was pleasantly surprised i tried telling my friend that this bat is hitting better than my GN predator but he wasnt buying it...there is a lot of give in the handle and there doesnt seem to be that vibration on the mi****s i can actually feel the flex in the handle which i didn't before...well i am in a bit of a quandry now cuz now i cant decide between a L&W or the Gn fusion

I will have the pics in a day or 2. The bat LOOKS different than the pics I posted before so lets see what everyone thinks of it. Also we have a 20-20 coming up so I guess we will find out about the performance of the bat as well. One thing that I have noticed, from the little use of the nets that I have with the bat is, bat speed. Maybe it's in my head but this bat generates more bat speed than my previous ones and it has a very good middle. But again I will find out more once I get to use it a bit more just had 15 mins with it in the nets last weekend. |

There are too many bat threads around again at the moment - it was to
avoid this sort of thing that Sledger created the sticky for bat
discussion.
Therefore most of the other bat threads are going to be closed tomorrow morning, so if you want to make a final point or move the discussion to the sticky, this would be the time to do so. |
