Hi i got a laver&wood private bin for xmas, people their are so helpful, you tell them what you want, and they offer you advice on what to have, mine is 2lb 7 and a half, thick edges(1 inch thick at biggest point!) high middle, long sweetspot and 11 tight grains, goes like a train!

Thanks for that, can you tell me if you got it directly from laver and wood or through another firm. Did you also ask for a certain amount of grains?

I'm afraid you're getting the wrong end of the stick. I was just seeking advice on Laver and Wood and not trying to promote them in any way.

Cheers

Ok well im still gonna remain suspicious because in the last two weeks there has been an influx of members promoting these custom made bats.

And this here sounds like a bad American advert were one of those real people/actors tells you about his experiences with the product.

well first of all filled out the email form, and then they replied swifly telling me what sort of bat best suits me, and then i rang them and ordered it making sure i got exactly what i want. if and when you order 1 i would recomend ringing them as you can make sure it is going to be made to just how you want it. feel free to ask any more questions

But they can't spell for toffee, so are we to take them seriously? No, so if they've come on here to advertise they've turned more people away than they've reeled in.

what has spelling got to do with it? i don't atually try and spell evrything correctly on here, its a forum not an english essay! people who know properly about cricket bats do not need to be persuaded to buy them anyway. if you are looking to best help your batting then a custom made bat is the best thing for you.

You don't try and spell things properly or make an effort to make your posts readable, then people won't bother to try and read them. Waste of your time, waste of ours. There's a very good argument for correct spelling and punctuation, as you should read in the 'Important - please read' thread.

you are a bit of a spelling geek! i write quickly so the chances of me spelling everything correctly is not always great. However, i don't think i have posted anything which is unreadable.

Not unreadable for those of us who have English as our first language, but to someone who hasn't some of what you wrote was quite confusing. You have no need to type quickly, as this is not an instant messaging type situation, there are no prizes for responding quickest or anything. Maybe I am a spelling geek, as you put it, but my posts read easier than yours do.

Anyway, let's not waste time arguing, let's get back on topic, if we can.

I don't play any more because firstly, I wasn't much good, although living in the middle of nowhere meant I never really got to play that much anyway, but I now have a dodgy shoulder...

...as for what I was, I was a middle order batsman who could bowl a bit of medium pace.

Cool JP!

Well I agree with the spelling debate, but who cares about it now, as I also tend to kinda miss some letter when I type fast!

Anyway the experience I have with the Kookaburra Kahuna is amazing, but really costly. Specialy when your living in a place where the product is not made. I got it for about DHS:580.

DHS stands for Dirhams.

One pound is nearly 6 or 7 dirhams.

So it was expensive.

Whereas my MB MAlik Sher was DHS: 375.

Got a discount, coz my friends knows the guy!

Both the bats are awesome.

I've never played with the Laver and Wood bat, so I dont know exactly.

woops, I meant letters*

but it really doesn't matter and why waste time on arguing about something not even related to cricket?

I heard MB Maliks cost 8000 Pakistani rupees. My brothers friend got one from Pakistan so that's how I know.
