Almost, New Zealand won comfortably by 7 wickets with new boys How and Fulton easing them home past a paltry 164.

Nice way to end the year, and have they finally unearthed a couple of guys to bolster their batting?

Impressive win by NZ. The 2 new guys actually performed better than I expected them to. Shane Bond took 3 wickets, and helped restrict SL to a mere 164.

Time will tell whether How and Fulton are up to the job. The New Zealand selectors do tend to pick players with modest FC records because they sense they will be able to make the step up. Sometimes it works - look at Hamish Marshall in Tests, other times it doesn't - James Marshall for example.

Sri Lanka, though, continue to slide from bad to worse, and it's not pretty to watch.

Yea, I don't understand that. What's wrong with SL these days?

That is one bad bunch of performances. They really need to do something.

SL made 255. NZ are off to a flyer. They are beating the crap out of Sri Lanka. NZ are at 58 for 0 off only 8 overs. 14 runs coming off the last over. Vincent is at 42* and How at 12*.

How falls for 12 and NZ are at 59 for 1. They need 197 for off 41.2 overs.
