In the 19th century, when cricketers still bowled underarm, Christina Willes supposedly set the game on the path to its now standard overarm style. Playing with her brother John (who represented Kent) in their garden in the early 1800s, she is said to have pioneered roundarm bowling - because her lead-weighted, hooped skirt prevented her from bowling underarm. Not true: as any fan of period costume drama knows, women of that era didn't wear hoops. Surrey player Tom Walker invented roundarm bowling in the 1790s when he discovered it offered greater pace and variation.
The only problem with this Clobs is the fact that Walker was never allowed to bowl roundarm, being repeatedly no-balled (and called for chucking, where have we heard that before).  Walker indeed pioneered roundarm in practice, but Willes was the firs to use it unopposed in competitive cricket, and he went to the grave claiming he fashioned it on the bowling of his sister.

David Cup + cricket -- oooooh..

I'm guessing British, Aussie or South African... probably the latter - RSA is known for producing multi-talented sportsmen.

Yup, Prabir Sen was, indeed, the only keeper to stump the Don in international cricket.

Well done MP, a little clue - the other would make a better fist keeping against the current WI attack if he used a racquet!

Was Raja being treated for an injury and just left his runner at the nonstriker's end.  The law says that both runner and injured bat must be in their ground to avoid a runout and maybe there was a mix up between striker and runner resulting in the decision.
The problem with this answer is I'm unsure if a runner is allowed to stay on the pitch without the injured player - I certainly haven't ever seen that anyway.

No Sledge, Raja walked when he was caught off a no-ball.  He got back to the pavilion before realising and sat amazed as he was 'run out' because the bails had subsequently been removed by an English fielder.

One player stands out - having taken four in 4 (four wickets in four balls) on debut in English domestic cricket ........... I know who it was, do you?

'twas indeed Pocock, though Shaun Pollock took four wickets in four balls on his first appearance for Warwickshire - in a limited-overs (B&H Cup) game v Leicestershire at Birmingham in 1996.

Martin Bicknell?

I don't think it is, but he's got to be one of the contenders.

I think that one is John Traicos - the gap being something like 22 years, and made all the more unusual in than the Test appearances were for different countries!
