Wow, girls waking up so early to watch Cricket - I need to go girl hunting in the sub continent.  Girls here does can't believe how I could stay up late or wake up early to watch Cricket.  Raj and Zuhair got to thank their lucky stars. Big%20smile

SW even i have never seen a girl waking up early to watch cricket the only reason they might wake up early in sub continent is to watch some kind of stupid drama's (serials).Big%20smile

i have read in the pakistani news that Afridi is ready to play test cricket. He would be definetly better choice than Shoaib Malik or Misbah who gives a very good bowling option. He can always motivate the team.

Sure he can bowl.......but what Pakistan need is someone who is prepared to fight for some runs. No matter how Afridi is starting to mature, he is not that man. The trouble Pakistan is having is they are placing top order batsmen in that number 6 slot who have no idea how to play that role. Find a number 6 scoring runs on the domestic circuit and put him in the team.

you are right, but Pakistan bowled 139 Overs only with 4 Bowler. isn't it too hard for the bowlers? They need 2 more options. Abdul Razzaq or Afridi could fill that one spot. That would be my team.

Butt
Farhat
Malik (Younis)
Yousuf
Umar
Kamran
Afridi / Razzaq
Aamer
Gul
Asif
Kaneria

Spot on with Razzaq. He has to play. Perhaps Farwad at that no.3 spot, he can bowl some leg spin can't he?

Something I forgot to mention earlier is I was really impressed with Kamran's keeping. Not so much that it was brilliant, but it was of a high standard, not what I'm used to seeing from him. He must have spent a fair amount of time working on it.

His confidence is high at the moment and he is also in form with the bat. His brother is playing well in the same team. Everything is working good for him at this time.

My team would be.

Ahmed/Butt
Farhat
Younus

Umer
Fawad
Afridi
Razzaq
Aamir
Asif
Kaneria

I think they should play Ahmed Shehzad he is 19 and has played before he is very talented.

Afridi isn't a bad Test player, decent record plus his leggies are very improved nowadays.

I was hoping for a result. Wanted New Zealand to win. Vettori and NZL have become pretty popular in my house this year.

Yea I agree. Razzaq is a must in the team. Afridi can play some good knocks if he feels like it... and he feels like it more often now than before. I still remeber seeing his 100 against West Indies a couple of years ago, It was very un-Afridi-like and ofcourse his bowling.

I thought PAK were way too defensive in their approach and they should have scored more freely. It almost cost them the match and the series, However, it was a fantastic come back which is heartening to see.

Lou Vincent has expressed his desire to return to the NZL team. I was thinking about him during this series, considering NZL's problems at the top of the order. Lou won't be a bad option really, he is still 31 so has 4-5 years of cricket left in him.

I'm not really sure about Vincent. The way he plays, he looks like a middle order batsman, not an opener but I guess it can't hurt to have someone else looking to press for his international spot again.

The big news is that Shane Bond has retired from test cricket, and only test cricket. He has opted to still be available for ODI's and 2020. Such a shame, only played 18 tests.

quite a shame indeed! I'd have been happier had he quit limited overs cricket and played Tests. Just 18 tests for such a fine bowler!!! can't believe this!

Sam, I'm not sure if you're active in Cricket but from what little experience we've got, we can certainly agree with what Bond has done here.  It's very frustrating to keep on getting injured and injured over and over again.  Test Cricket is more work load so it's only logical he quit that and continue the lighter stuff.

A tremendous bowler, definitely one of my very favourite but I can see his side of it!

I know spinny. It's just what I would have liked... I'm not saying he took the wrong decision but for NZL's sake, they needed him badly in tests rather than ODI's.

I'm not a cricketer. I have only played at the college and school level. That's why I always say you guys know a lot better than me... I used to be in my college team because the captain of our team was my best friend Smile, but then I was a failry good batsmen, very wristy and very strong on the leg side, like all hyderabadis.

yes Zuhair, very similar in style to him, but absolutely nothing as compared to his class and ability.
