You pair should read a few of your own posts, talk about bias.

Nobody is, wich is why it's pretty hypocritical to have a crack at others about it.

I'm confident of the NZ team and often act over-confident though always in a facetious manner. On the other hand I am impartial when talking about players, teams and their abilities respectively.

Good one Graham!

Don't be so quick to judge mate. If you look through this thread, which you probably won't, you'll find i've mentioned a whole host of international players worthy of the award.

NOT JUST NEW ZEALANDERS, unlike most of the Australian's on this forum that can't see past the green and gold.
Good one Graham!

Up to this date the player of the series is a close tussel between Hayden, Kallis, Styris and McGrath. Unless Jayasuriya hits 2 tons or Murali takes 8-10 wickets in next 2 matches to take SL to WC title, I don't see any other contender. Oh I just forgot Brad Hogg, 19 wickets, if he takes a bunch against SAF (which is likely to happen) then he is also in the business

Big call mate. Maybe one or two but definatley not MOST. Obviously we all support our own team more than any other side, not sure anyone can call that bias, maybe just supporting your side and or favourite players and being very passionate about it.

It's only bias when any aussie does it, it's just patriotism for all other countries.

I agree that everyone has their personal favourites, but to laugh at others for supporting lesser teams is pure arrogance, and that can be done without. I'm not pointing any fingers, but some board-members certainly are guilty of doing this.

I would support Vaughan for player of the world cup for demonstrating that age, injury and lack of application are not barriers to standing up proud and making a right arse of yourself!! Failing that, give it to Hayden.

We do it occasionally, not harm in it. Don't want to publically make a fool of yourself do you?

Hayden must deserve this award. He has batted consistently throughout the tournament with great authority.

Good on him. Admittedly I had written him off as not only a one-day player but as a batsman not so long ago. Once again he has proven me wrong.
Good one Graham!

I think Man of the Tournament is about consistent performances and  match-winning efforts.  Gibbs's 6 sixes, while hugely entertaining to many, certainly isn't enough to warrant a MOTT award for him.

I base my MOTT purely on fast bursts of entertainment Wink

I think Hayden should receive the player of the world cup award. 3 tons and none ae against the minnows.

Indeed, the 170+ captain's knock that Smith is about to produce could well swing it for him.

God - it's an odd feeling wanting that muppet to do well.

I'm backing Kallis to hold there innings together, they'll look to bat around him while keeping the scoring rate ticking over.

Smith, Kallis, Ponting and Hayden have all been brilliant for this World Cup. If they all perform today, we might get a match!

Jayawardane is second on the most runs scored list. With his captaincy added, he can be a good runner for it. MOT will be one of floowing five. Hayden, Jayawardane, Murali, McGrath and Kallis
