I tend not to like the bigger brands as I don't think they give great value for money. Of all the bats I have now my favourites would be the SS Ton Ltd Edition, MB Malik Sher, Matrrixx Terminator and the Fusion that I will be using this season

i like the smaller companies, such as fusion, but with regards to equipment and best looking stickers i would have to go with gm or kooka, both have great equipment and if you buy the top of the range bats you will normally get good quality

i agree with crick makes like fusion are the best because everything is custom made and the pads and gloves are of test match quality i would also highly recomend laver & wood and although they may be a bit more expensive than fusion they make amazing bats

ive got a fusion super grade which i like but it is better for 20 over matches cause it weighs 2lb 11 and a laver & wood private bin which is amazing if u want a new bat get one of these. they are completely custom made and arrive quickly from new zeland where they are made

i think gm bats are quality, provided you pick them yourself, and you get near the top of the range, i.e. original le, original or 909

yea gm bats are good but if u want the best bats you have 2 get them custom made ie. fusion laver & wood, bradbury etc.

I've spoken with both of them

ok what sort of willow has your fusion got ie. how many grains and how straight?

Posted By: Clobber
Date Posted: 05 March 2006 at 8:20pm
I don't have it to hand but off the top of my head it has 8 or 9 grains, pretty straight and fairly white willow

hugo would you say your laver and wood is better than your fusion? I have a fusion and Bill has been great to me. But i would really like to try laver &wood, as i havetn heard a bad review of  theyre bats.

Posted By: Hugo
Date Posted: 05 March 2006 at 8:41pm
i think my laver & wood is amazing but fusion are very very good and the service from bill and james is excellent but overall i would say my laver is better because the willow used is better and it is more custom made 2 ur exact specifications but dnt get me wrong fusion do make good bats but fusion bats are probably more suited to 20 over matches where as lavers can be used for anything

there is lots od good makes out there, e.g fusion, lavaer & wood, bradbury, gm, kookaburra, hunts, woodworm, slazenger, ss, gray nicolls, puma, they all make good bats of u pay the right money but as for equipment such as gloves and pads etc, i think that gm and kookaburra edge it,(lol) but dont get me wrong bradury and all the other custom bat makers are incredibly good, it all depends on the user and wot they like at them end of the day and for me gm is the one

Gm is pretty good i agree i like bradbury, screaming cat and im looking to get a fusion just to see what its like, i dont like the prices of laver and wood bats but they are good bats my mates have them

I've used a GN, a Hunts County (which was rubbish) and a couple of Slazengers. I like the pick up on the Slazengers I used so I bought one and I'm very happy with it.

i am considering to get a net bat to prolong the life of my other two bats, basically i would be using it in needless nets eg when not having to impress, and also in dodgy wet muddy conditions lol, i am most likely going to get a gm, probably the duellist as the high midlle suits me very well, as it is only going to be a net bat im considering the 808 as that comes with gm now and toetek, and i should be able this get this cheaper than what it costs from the shops, just wondering

is the 808 a good buy in your views?

and i like the maxi aswell as the duellist, which one tends to have the bigger profile in a weight of about 2lb 10?

Posted By: crick
Date Posted: 13 March 2006 at 2:39pm
mate why dont you just get a cheap kashmir willow bat for netting, it would be alot better calue for money cuase it will lst much longer

Posted By: Rambo_123UK

Yeah, but you want to use something that feels the same as when you're in the middle. If you practice with one bat and then play with another with a different weight, pick-up and middle, it can affect the way you time your shots.

yer i certainly want a fairly good english willow bat, but which is also durable, i think the 808's have a god balance between performance and durablity, and also are gm nowed and toeteked

Date Posted: 13 March 2006 at 9:19pm

i think a good idea would be to ask the people who are making your current laver and wood, ask them if they have any reject willow, or kashmir etc and then get them to make a cheaper bat with the same balance as the one your are gonna get soon!!

Posted By: henjam
Date Posted: 13 March 2006 at 9:25pm
yer not a bad idea atually, although they would not have any kashmir and i wouldnt want a kashmir bat lol my new one should be arriving friday hopefully, i like the duellist as it suits me well and quite similar to my private bin, although i am going up to trent bridge on friday for the weekend to train there and my coach is a gm rep and he is going to take me round the gma factory, so as he is a rep i am hoping i can get one cheaper! lol
