there where a few good debuts from a couple of zimbabweans against kenya but i reckon ian bradshaw did really well in his first test against new zealand and munaf patel taking  7 wickets on debut who was the last bowler to take 7 wickets or more on debut

Went for Cook as he was brought in quicklt and only had a couple of days to prepare. But hopefully Patel will be coming to Leicestershire this season, that's the rumours i hear.

i went for jaques, becuase he knew he may score big, but still lose his place, as he did! i think that gave added pressure compared to e.g. cook who had a huge amount of pressure becuase of the situation, but the fact that he knew he was probably going to play for most the series means he may have felt slight more comfortable

Jaques, because he's score was big! And also Cook, he had a wonderful debut.

clark did well 5-55 but if he can take 2 or 3 wickets in the 2nd innings then he'll be the best debutaunt this year thus far

I think Cook gave himself a good start and showed that he has something in him that not all batmen today have. I think he will become quite a big star in the future.
