Was browsing through  Bradbury  and L+W sites and a google search  for hand  made bats brought me  to  Charlie  French's site. I have never heard of his bats nor seen one but this 'Odyssey' caught my eye  as the most bizare  bat shape I have ever seen has anyone used  one or come accross this before? The profile is certainly....unique!

Yeah seen that before. Don't tell me Fusion was doing that shape 2 years ago... hahaha

Calm Down Bill take a deep breath just a joke.

The CF looks enormous but I wonder what its like to swing.

Hi all,

Charlie has played a lot of top notch cricket and still does. He's been making bats for a good few years now.I can't imagine him lauching a bat that is just a gimmick.I would think it works quite well, although the shape is not the most aesthetically pleasing.

No one was suggesting the bat was no good Mark, simply that it looks odd

It does look at touch odd to be fair!

Ditto the above, I wasnt knocking him or the bat just thought it was peculiar, not that that is always a bad thing! Would love to hear a review from someone who has used one.

Hear a review? Different people are suited to different bats, so a review is really completely out of the window

3D Models make the bat look better than they really are. jk.

I actually have a Charlie French bat and think it is the best bat I have ever used. My club's old professional was sponsored by CF and he managed to get me a bat for a good price. I use the Charlie French Fusion and would not recommened it enough. It is such a nice bat, lovely pick up, great middle. Certainly looking forward to the new season.

Hi Darlo lad. there is con-Fusion is yours a CFfusion or Fusion-Fusion,and now theres a GN fusion???

Fusion is our registered company name, also the sharp spine with what we call Parallel Wieghted, has been with us for over 3 years,it could be said that others are doing a simular shape.

Sorry Batman100, my bat is a CF Fusion. I've heard about Fusion bats though, they are meant to be good ones? Have you got a website or anything or is that not allowed to be sent across message boards?

Eh? How doe sthat work then? Different people are suited to all manner of different things but that does not stop them giving an objective opinion...so I think you will find it comes back through the window!

As for the bat, sure it might suit someone and not someone else, but why would that make them be unable to make a comment such as "yeah looks a bit odd but nice pick-up, used it last season got a stackfull of runs" or "looks a bit different but feels great, good balance" etc..There are dozens of threads on this forum "which is the best bat" "Bradbury V L&W" which are full of people giving their opinions/reviews about bats. Why is this any different?

It isn't, just a great bat for one person is most probably not for someone else.

seems a popular bat, so must be decent!

has anyone noticed the similarity in description between the CF fusion and the Stac Crossfire? here it is

Crossfire

Combining the best English and Asian batmaking techniques, Crossfire has a slight bow in the blade and the shape has been designed to give an incredibly light pickup for the deadweight of the bat without losing any power.

and then the CF Fusion

Combining the best English and Asian batmaking techniques, Fusion has a slight bow in the blade and the shape has been designed to give an incredibly light pickup for the deadweight of the bat without losing any power.

any comments, does anyone have either of these bats, what are your opinions on them?

I had never noticed that before crick, then again I don't think I would look at things that closely to find out.
