Martyn has had a tipsy turvy comeback series scoring low scores but managing a match winning century and a 50.

Clarke and Hodge want a spot so will they get it?

I think clarke should be in, he is young very talented and needs a long run in the side to do his confidence a world of good, i thin kit is important australia bring in a few new, young faces soon, otherwise in a couple of years, they will be making many changes due to a lot of the current team being old, and they will end up with a lot of inexperinced players.

Martyn is a good player as are hodge and clarke

Hodge is just far too broing i was at the test match when he made 200 the crowd wanted him to get out so gilly n symonds could come in.

clarke will get a chance to play hes got 10 years in him,for now marto is playing well so he should stay in

There should be no changes made to this current team they won a series 3-0 what could be wrong

Well they weren't real test cricket supporters lad. Australians who've been around test cricket for some time know what a great knock that was , double hundreds don't come around very often.

people pay good money to watch cricket,a 200  is bad  when it takes 2 days to complete it eventually costing your team the match.that was the most broing test match ive ever watched

My order is as follows:

Justin Langer
Matthew Hayden
Ricky Ponting (c)
Damien Martyn
Michael Hussey
Michael Clarke
Adam Gilchrist (w/k)
Shane Warne
Brett Lee
Stuart Clark
Glenn McGrath

Twelve Man: Andrew Symonds.

Michael Clarke can also bowl a few overs here and there, so I think this order is fine, but none the less. The order should remain unchanged after winning a test series 3-0.

You haven't watched much test cricket , have you lad?

Hodge's 203* took 7hrs 50 mins and 332 balls.

That's more than a decent scoring rate in a test. I'll remind you that 2 full days is 12 hours , some way past his innings length!

The match ended in a draw , but it was anything but boring. Without Rudolph's rearguard action (102 off 283) Australia would have won.

Test cricket is an endurance race , not a sprint. If you want faster scoring , stick to the pajama game.

I would keep Martyn in the side and wait for him to retire. I think he is 34 right now, I would keep him for another 2 years. So when he retires Australia can bring Hodge into the side. Clarke has to wait, he has to prove that he is better than Hussey somehow. Clarke should be used when Hussey retires, or when is injured.

no matey, you get it right.... its not of 500 balls. Its off 332 balls.

i suggest you go and read up on your stats Eddyc, hodges 203* did in fact come from 332 balls as sledger posted. And if giving yourself 4 session to get out your opponents isn't positive cricket i don't know what is. You make it sound as if Australia batted like snails, and then was defensive in trying to get the SA side out

5-0 You Beauty!!!!!

Thanks for the many fantastic memories Marto, Langer, Warney & Pidg

Yeah, i think Symonds is better suited to the ODI team than the test team. I think clarke should be given a chance in tests, he scored 151 and took 6/9 in his first test series against India

How can any of you even think of replacing Martyn with Hodge?

out of any player in australia who deserves to play test cricket for australia its Brad Hodge the selectors have ignored him for sometime and if that 203* wasnt convincing enough then i don't know what is

Damnit. Who cares if he made a 203*. He is NOT consistant enough. He makes all low scores, then a half century, then makes low scores then makes a double century. That's why they took him out.

Got to be Marto, and whats wrong with Gillespie.  One bad series and he's out!  (same as Marto).  I hope Gillespie bowls well against the Deshi's to remind us all how sharp he is.

The only reason why Hodges 200 wasn't good enough by the Western Australians was the they wanted Damion Martyn back in the side because he is a Western Australian

Martain hasn't had a strong career because he's had some serious run droughts.

Hodge as been doing well for the Vics, getting them to the final, and player of the series in the 20/20 domestic cup.

Martyn hasn't done much recently outside SA

so what just because you don't like hodge it dosent mean he shouldnt be playing martyn failed again today against BANGLADESH he should finish his career in the ashes maybe thats if he even gets a place i think hes capable of scoring big tons but he'll fail more then he'll succsed michael clarke is still young and is capable of turning around matches in an instance martyn may have scored a 50 and ton against south africa but 2 good innings out of 8 innings including bangladesh isint good enough i think he should play out his career with W.A
