Go check Pollock's strike rate and wickets per test in his last 12 test matches and you'll see why he shouldn't make a list of the top TWENTY bowlers!!

I dont think any one from Asia needs a mention here, are we only ratting the world outside, on the recent performance, where is shreesanth, and Muhammad Asif. Bond and Shoab have been more or less similar wicket taking, fast and furious but lacking fitness, Magrath has been out of the game a while, so please redefine the current word also!
------------- so far so good!

well the 'current' word means that the players haven't retired yet.

1. Clobber
2. Nelson Mandela
3. Queen Victoria
4. Hannibal Lector
5. J.P.
Sorry JP , your figures just can't make me put you any higher. Clobber is a leg-end in Scotland , how can anyone forget that historic game where he went through a Border under 7 side with , the now famous figures of 71-0-295-6
....awesome bowling , it's still talked about in hushed tones north of the border.

- Ntini
- Hoggard (Despite being poor this series)
- Flintoff

- I'm tempted to say Malinga, he bowled very well over here.

I was thinking of putting Malinga in my list but it was tough as Steyn is something the world has to look out for, despite Hoggards poor series against Pakistan his previous series against India was superb and Sri Lanka.

Good to see someone taking over the reigns in the RSA attack from the out of form/end of career Pollock.
Although will go for more runs than Pollock.

he is still raw. He cloked 154kmph during recent test series. We have to keep out fingers crossed to see he has an injury free career. We dont want him to do a Shane Bond or a Nuwan Zoysa.
Malinga also broke the 150k barrier (150.2k) and he is the second Sri Lankan who have thought to do it.
QUIZ: Who is the first??

Wrong. He clocked 147.6k at Sharjah, bowling to Saeed Anwar.
Next guess- Prabath Nissanka 148.5k to Sehwag at WC 2003
This is a hard one
It is a first class cricketer named Ishara Amarasinghe, who terrified some toring sided with his pace and Bounce.
He had stress fractures because of his unorthadox action and now merely a fast medium bowler.

I was always wondering why English speaking commentators can't pronunce Asian/African names, while Asian / African comentators always can do both. Are they serious or are they malingering?
|

Its just that Asian and African countries have more alphabets in their languages so the word are tougher to proniuce. For me Ishara Amarasinge is quite a simple name.
