many people use the scrambled seam when they cant get the correct line with the swing! so to simplify bowling

Bowl a few googlies (most people can't get the seam straight) on off stump line. Then bowl a leg break with a scrambled seam on middle and off.

Swing bowlers use the scambled seam when bowling swing makes it swing the oposite way ie an out swinger bowled with a scrambled seam would swing in. it gives a bit of variation to the bowler and confuses the batsmen. Any condition where you can get swing will do.

What the hell are u talking about?

Scrambling the seam gets rid of al swing!

If you can make a ball swing with a scrambled seam then ur some sort of miracle worker

Yet again leezy , you are wrong. You are always doubting guys. A scramble seam on a seaming pitch is one of the worst sight for a batter because it can go anyway.

And by the way , swingking points were correct. Watch Jerome taylor bowl for west indies tomorrow or today and you will all see that his outswingers when scramble comes back in.

Do any of you actually bowl swing?

U can't make a ball swing with a scrambled seam, aslong as I am understanding the term scrambled seam properly, in that u bowl with your fingers across the seam.

Its an impossibility simply because both sides of the ball are balanced

Do you scramble the seam at a certain angle then?

yeah good point, if it is a randomly scrambled seem, then physics says it wont swing, or if it does, it ma go slightly one way, then the other, but so minimally that it isn't noticeable,

yeah i bowl at an angle, but the angle varies depending on how much the ball is swing cus sometimes it negates the swing an you do not get any. Experiment an see thats what i did, doesnt always work though!

So what ur trying to say is that u don't actually bowl with a scrambled seam at all, and u just reverse swing it

Sort out ur own knowledge of swing before u go criticising other peoples

no im not sayin that u can experiment with the angle of the ball a little bit. lets not turn this into point match, cuz ull only lose! what i mean is u dnt have to bolw with the seam vertical u can experiment with the angle of the seam, but too much an it wont swing scrambled seam or no.

Wake up lad!
If you hold the seam at an angle and bowl as if the seam was straight, you will get a scrambled seam.
Got it?

I was advised by an older teammate to not bowl with a scrambled seam when we were in the nets once.

Well, I think bowling with a scrambled seam just makes it go a random direction when it lands, but I don't know why you wouldn't just keep the seam straight and have it land on a straight seam then deviate.

If you are bowling spin, the batsman wont know which way the ball is going to turn if you bowling with scramble.

If you bowl fast, it is better to keep the seam straight. as it creates less resistance and more bounce.
