I reckon in your batting line up you need at least one guy who isn't just a biffer, but can adapt to the situation and work it around for ones if need be, and since slow bowlers have traditionally been the hardest to score off in the format, my line up reflects that;
Gilchrist Harvey Ponting Symonds Flintoff Dravid M Hussey Warne Vettori Lee* Murali
* is the only selection I am not 100% sure about as I reckon any one of a number of pacemen could fill the slot, and given the spin-heavy nature of my side he'd probably only bowl 2 overs anyway

good to see you have quite a few aussies in that team clobbs you've finally seen the light hehe jks
I'd swap Michael Clarke for dravid, and would be iffy between Lee and McGrath, lee is more likely to go for more runs, but then he can bat a bit to.
------------- 5-0 You Beauty!!!!!
Thanks for the many fantastic memories Marto, Langer, Warney & Pidg

yeah a few of the ancient Aussies since they can still just about manage a 20 over game before their old limbs seize up. I wouldn't have McGrath in my side as line and length bowlers tend to go for a few

you could pick a few out of that stanford tournament but the Windy KP is the best in my opinion, good choice.

Anil Kumble, your team was terrible. Afridi at number 8??? Thats
stupid! If a number 8 is needed it usually means the pitch is bad
meaning Afridi will last for round about 3 balls. Mortaza, you're
surely having a laugh. I thought better of you.

My team is da bomb!
1. Gilchrist
2. Afridi
3. Ponting
4. Symonds
5. Tendulkar
6. Pietersen
7. Dhoni
8. Shaun Pollock
9. Ian Harvey
10. Anil Kumble
11. Stuart Broad
I have got the scariest opening partnership of all time,
some anchormen, (Ponting and Tendulkar) I've got sheer power, (Symonds,
Pietersen and Dhoni.) Shaun Pollock and Stuart Broad. Broad had an
economy rate of under 5 in the 20:20 this year and Shaun Pollock is
just great. Ian Harvey with his devastating yorkers and useful batting
if necessary. I've got Anil Kumble with his incredibly accurate spin
bowling. WHAT A TEAM!

1.Adam Gilchrist (wk) 2.Shahid Afridi /Chris Gayle 3.Ricky Ponting (capt) 4.Kevin Pietersen (if he reaches his potential ;) ) 5.Andrew Symonds 6.Andrew Flintoff 7. M Dhoni 8. Shane Warne 9. Daniel Vettori 10.Glenn Mcgrath/Pollock (someone who can seam well, bowling at death) 11.Shane Bond
WE got two good openers, gilchrist, whos a natural, with his forward defense a drive down the ground, and another nice slogger, preferably chris gayle.
Ponting in there to give it some depth, with pietersen able to play both a quick blast and long innings. symonds for kicks, flintoff for his powerful batting and ok bowling. M Dhoni cos hes just the man to hit hard =P
then shane warne, (he plays in special matches like asia vs the rest), and vettori, both good spinners, making the batsmen hit the bal, rather than using pace (a reason why i didn't pick lee). Mcgrath or pollock, they both are accurate and can seam the ball ,making it hard to hit.
and finally shane bond, NZ fast bowler, who swings it damn fine!!!. watch his beautiful balls to right handers, aiming outside off and curivng in to hit middle/leg. EDIT: SPELLING

heres a good Twenty20 team (i realise there all aussies!)
1 D Martyn
2 A Gilchrist
3 R Ponting
4 B Lee
5 J Hopes
6 A Symonds
7 M Clarke
8 M Hussey
9 S Clark
10 S Katich
11 S MacGill
12 M Cosgrove
In this team, you have Brett Lee as your pace bowler. James Hopes (medium pace) and Andrew Symonds (offbreak) as pure allrounders (Brett Lee is sort-of an allrounder aswell). Stuart Clark as a fast bowler, and Stuart MacGill as the main spinner. Also if needed Michael Clarke and Simon Katich could bowl. This team has a lot of firepower, with the tailend starting at 11!

Why hasn't anyone included Graeme Smith in their teams? He's got the best batting average in Twenty20's. Smith and AB will definitely be the openers in my team.

Pietersen
Symonds
Oram
Afridi
Vettori
Bond
Malinga

Samhache, I am a huge fan of Smith's and AB's but they're on my Twenty20 team purely on class and their ability to get the team off to a flyer. Besides, as I mentioned before, Smith does have the best twenty20 batting average. That should count for something

Players shouldn't be picked in the team on the fact that they have a high average.

You're right, that's why I said his average should count for "something" and not "everything"...

plus, in a 20/20 game averages dont count for anything. Its 20 overs of bludgeoning not calculated cricket.
