First of all don't let your nerves concern you - everyone gets nerves when they go into bat, or at least they should do.

Batting in the middle is so different from the nets, where a lovely uppish drive gets cries of "great shot" whereas in the middle you get caught at mid-wicket and everyone says "what were you thinking?".

There was a good thread on nerves not so long ago so find that as it had lots of good advice that will be helpful.

if you werent nervous, you wouldnt be able to concentrate highly, as long as you can control the nerves, and focus at the job at hand,

best way to look at it is you have to try to succeed,

dont try not to fail!

Just think how even if you get out at 0, you won't be the only person on your team to have ever done that, so just go out and bat expecting a zero and if you score one run you will have passed your expectations.

If you have been getting a duck for several innings in a row, just think that it can't get any worse and go out and play your game.

As a number 6 allrounder I feel your pain. But I have some tips for faceing spin. If you are going for a slog, try and wipe out the spin aspect and hit it on the drop. and also

When batting against spinners, try doing an initial 'forward press' by making an initial half-step on to the front foot as the bowler bowls. This will give you a good base to play from and help give you quicker feet.

i know the forward press will help you against spin, but how does it suddenly make your footwork quicker? i think its just the fact that you are already a half step down the pitch so you dont have as far forward to go!

That may be something too do with it but It's also the fact you have most of your weight forward. So you can be more explosive.

Choose a good bat if you like your bat you will more likely to score more runs. Also try to have some not outs in your innings

I think it is great to bat through the whole innings to save the team from a collapse.

As a batsmen you need to think that you can play against the best bowler the other team has got.  So whenever you are walking towards the pitch, just remind yourself once that I am better than the bowler.  Now, there is a very thin line here between being cocky and being confident.  You need to be on confident side and never get cocky, because that's when you get out.

Different things work for different people.  One of my mates likes to sit alone and concentrate before going in.  He won't even talk to anyone before he goes in, I guess he is just trying to get in that frame of mind.  Me personally, I bat at #4 for my team but have been asked to open the innings quite often as well and every time I walk in the ground I talk to myself (sounds psycho I know) and tell myself that I know I am better than their bowlers and the only way they will get my wicket is if I give them my wicket myself.  Again not being cocky just confident, cocky will have you walking back to the pavillon pretty soon.  Been there and done that in the past unfortunately
