i think when he is on form he is the best wicket keeper in the world. currently hes havin a bad time with the bat and gloves but i think everyone has that in their carreer ure opinions |

I agree last year with gilly in Freddy Flintoff's pocket Akmal was the best Keeper/batsman for me, though Dhoni wasnt far off, Akmal scored a few tons, under pressure. He can take over th mentle from Gilly whne he gets his form back. ------------- |

Sanga would have a fair bit to say about that!! Akmal is still trailing him in both Batting & WKeeping, but he has been most impressive, and improved outta site since he was here in aust. in 03. Potential doesn't make him better. I was a huge fan of Akmal's but would be concerned about the state of his keeping when the ball has done a bit for the seamers lately. |

i Said he was the best young keeper/batsman last year, but CLAPo you are spot on Sangakkara is a superb keeper/batsman and has proven himself against all opositions and keeping to murali must be a nightmare yet he does it superbly. ------------- |

Akmal has struggled over in England in the test series but I wouldn't be suprised if he returns to the test arena againt the West Indies with a big ton because I doubt such a fine young talent like Akmal would not go 5 tests without scoring a fifty. ------------- Check out my blog http://crictopia.blogspot.com/ pretty bad though... |

He is no where near Gilly and Sanga. Dhoni and him are equal and I think Boucher is ahead of both of them. He is one of the best batsman with tailenders and under pressure. ------------- |

At the moment Sangakara is at the top of the table.But if you analyse whole careers, the undouted ones will be
1. Andrew Flower (Guys, why do you forget him so often) 2. Adam Gilchrist 3. Kumar Sangakkara 4. Mark Boucher 5. Close fight between Akmal and Dhoni |

kamran akmal is the most garbage player ever, how could anyone say he is the best wicket keeperr in the world, oh yea i forgot, pakistanis, sangakkarra and dhoni, even boucher and gilchrist are on whole different level tham akmal, akmal will never be more than an average wicket keeper |

I think he is a good keeper. And when on form he can be better than Sanga or Dhoni with his keeping. But it will take some doing to beat Boucher and Gilly. |

Don't think so Dhoni's keeping this year has been first class while Akmal has just dropped another catch today agaisn't England going on form this year these are probably the best keepers:

You people has not seen much of Prasanna Jayawardane. But being a local I know that he is MILES ahead of Sanga with his keeping. We'll see him at work in the future in tests. |

the reason is that Akmal has performed in many pressured situations and when ever Dhoni playes its no pressure on him and i dont think he plays sensibaly.When he'll go out side the sub continent,the way he bats will not work.He hasnt proved him self in seaming wickets.He also failed in WI. ------------- blaa blaa blaa |

He may not be thes best right now, but he is going through a bad patch like most players. Gilly had a crp 2005, does that make him a poor keepr/batsman? Sometimes you need to use commonsense, Akmal has so much natural batting and keeping talent, he keeps to the fastes bowler in the world and bowlers who bowl revrse swing, I think right now its; 1.Sangakarra 2. Jayasuriya, how long was Kalu out of form for? I think about 3-4 years after the world cup, how long was sangakarra out of form for? How long was boucher out for form for, he even got dropped and last year what happned to gilly? a whole series without doing well. You and some other guys are qucik to pounce on pak team, just think before you write, every circketr has a lean period, look at jayasuriya, sachin, hayden, lara, inzy (2003) and many more, if cricket at this level was easy then anyone could play it. International cricket tests your character through good and bad times. akmal will come out of this period like others have done. He is young and has alot centures under pressure so your comment about him being the worst is rather foolish considering how well he has started his career. ------------- |

Inzy i know my cricket and i know cricket at this level is hard, and all the players above had rough stretches, but all players when out of form get critisized, and i regret saying akmal was the worst wicketkeepr pakistan found, i was just disapointed at that time when he got out so early, so i just blasted off, and im positive that akmal will come out of this drought and perform well. Fair point jaya, and thats what im saying, alot of arm chair fans have a go at cricketers, when they can only dream of playing park cricket. Sachin was criticised and people in india wanted him out of the team when he did not perform as expected last year. Same goes for other players. They are only humans and we all have ups and down in life. Just because Akmal and Pak had a dissapointing tour of england im not going to jump on the bandwagon of pak supporters escpecially in saying inzy should go, akmal should, ( though i mist admit Rana and Shoiab need a kick uo the backside) they know better than us and im sure always are trying their 100% to get better. ------------- |
