It's a great cricket captain game for the P.C. You get so addicted to
it. I've got this guy called Bill Todd who has scored 30 test centuries
in 90 matches. Has anyone got any stories they would like to tell about
experiences of amazing bowling or batting in this game?

(Can a mod move this to fun & games) I refused to buy this on principle after the right royal shafting the makers gave to all the people who bought ICC 2005 releasing a game full of bugs and promising a patch that never arrived - until after the next version had been released. |

i just got the game yesterday it is really good but i jst went randm teams and how dd use sign like ponting and watson i can only sign bad players and you can only get them on the first day as far as i know
and how do you sell players if you can

You can't sell players, you can only release them. You have a desgnated budget at the beginning of each season, so in effect releasing a player is like selling them because it's not eating into your budget. You are only allowed two overseas players in your squad, that means only non-English players that are still eligible to play for their country. For example:
For Hampshire Dominic Thornely and Shane Warne are the two overseas players.
If you sell either/both you will be able to sign another/two more overseas players - without going over the two player limit.
Other players such as Nick Pothas are also overseas but are ineligible to play for their respective countries (shown with a K next to their country of birth) and so are not counted towards the two overseas players.
Players under contract with England (e.g. Kevin Pietersen) are under contract with the ECB and no contract has to be paid for the player, making him a sort of free player. I don't advise you to release these players as they are free and because they play internationally they are usually very good.
If you can't get any decent players, try upping the wage offer, that should tempt them.

U went as Hampshire as well. I always thought that Pieterson was one of the international players. Anyway im into my second year now. In the first year i had Udal and Warne bowling a great spin partnership but then they both retired. Now i have Flintoff without being an international player, Katich who hasen't done anything 4 me. he cant even score past 80. hes a bowler who has an average off 34 batting in first class
and bowling is 43 37 and 25 so hes not that good he spinner but hes only 20

I've got a promising youngster by the name of Adam Ashton. I've had him for 3 seasons and he has averaged over 55 in the county championship but his challenge trophy average is under 20. He's only 25 now ------------- Monty Panesar and the Holy Grail is the best movie ever! |

It is a simulation as in the fact that the players play the game themselves (you can't control the players by use of a keyboard) but you can in the effect that you set the bowlers and batsman's aggression, set the fields, control bowling and batting spells and do the toss, but in terms of actually controlling the playing parts of control, then no. ------------- On extended leave... |

Yeah i got the game 2 days ago. Im in the second ashes test which i lost. I set England 174 to get in the final session of the test to make things interesting at they got it

Love the game but there are so many things it could do a million times better. 1. Give team talks to give the team spirit 2. Ability to build new stadiums 3. Give you better training options, you could let young batsman develop new strokes like the sweep so by 30 they will have all the strokes and all you need to do is perfect them. 4. Give players attributes like, how good he is with the media. ability to cope with stress (Tres 0) etc etc. 5. Design your own player. Sell him to your favourite club and let him improve. 6. Each player could have a goal they would like to reach in their career like score a triple century or something and if they pass it they learn something new. 7. You're the manager so you do press conferences, make decisions, send the team to the jungle to train over the winter anything. 8. Newspaper headlines with the results and mentions to the best performers. 9. Better graphics for matches that make it more realistic like a close up of the bowler or something. 10. Option to bribe umpires and if you get caught you lose your job. Basically I have stolen all these ideas from football games but they actually could work in this game. It frustrates me they never try anything new in this game it really does when just a little more time and effort would make this a classic game that would make cricket a more popular sport. ------------- [ |

I was just continuing my England game, when I was looking at what other World Cup games were going on, when I came to the Pakistan V Zimbabwe scorecard, and I found Streak, Taibu and Vermuelen in the side. Talk about not being up to date!

ICC 2006 and Zimbabwe have never been good bedfellows - they've always failed to keep up to date with it. Par sort of score for them, though. |

got a nice new guy on ashes edition and he averages 70 in his first 25 test matches with 11 centuries. His names Joseph Fanning so he should improve meaning he could become, if possible, even better than the first guy.
