There will be a sports game coming out i'm not sure that it will have cricket though. Its already come out so you might be able to get it in a bundle when you buy the Nintendo Wii

And if it does come out, it will probably be immature and stupid like most Nintendo games...

Some exceptions before people list them.

I don't see the point of buying a Nintendo Wii. Yeah it'd be great for parties, but can you imagine how said it'd be to be standing in the middle of a room waving a stick at the TV (and not the TV remote like usual). You'd only use it about once/twice a month at best. Go with Xbox 360 or the PS3 out next March in England hopefully. The second is my preferred choice. Smile

Aye, it is a stumbling block. But if you're serious about gaming, the Xbox or PS3 is definitely the one to go for.

Unfortunatly PS3 won't come out until Febuary next year. The problem with thoese type of controllers are that you might axceidently let go and it could break the tv

The nintendo wii looks more like a gimmick than a games console to be honest, it's probably aimed at young kids.

Yeah, thats what I think, slogger. Wii is more like for the kids. Its awesome how you have to use to stick to play. Imagine playing cricket on it. Waving your bat.

PS3 already released in US, it was released about month ago. They only give 10 to each big stores, so theres like big line every friday night.

They've actually made a cricket game for PS2 where you get a mini plastic bat and ball. Apparently it's rubbish though.

Obviously, who would want to do that in their home. The cool thing about Wii, is that you use stick to hit the ball. To play any racing game, you have to turn your controller to right or left to steer. Its awesome on someparts.

Apparently the "wands" are very slippy and there have been hundreds of cases of them slipping out of people's hands and smashing their TVs, windows etc.

Nintendo have said they aren't going to reclaim all consoles, though they are working on a new wand to make it less slippy amd easier to grip.

Still not worth buying imo.

I thoguht those wand things would be a problem, still though people will just have to grip them better.

Right, Slogger, need to be more cafeful with those, or you could just sit on your bed and play or place somewhere it wouln't break if dropped.

The thing is, in the middle of an exciting game - most likely drunk - gripping the wand just hard enough isn't going to be the first thing in your mind, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, theres a lesson to be learnt there as well though, don't wave slippy lumps of plastic around whilst drunk.

The controllers were a stupid idea though, they need some redesigning.

The topic has gone way out of topic.

The Wii is so famous here in Canada that everyone has been telling me that I'm stupid to buy an Xbox 360, which was my first choice. My mom said that PS3 is too expensive to buy and will take time for it to come down unless they release it properly with a low cost, so I'm still in a delimma.

Your mom is right, DF. PS3 is expensive at the moment, prices will go down after few months, so WII is the good choice for right now.

You're completely wrong there dhoniisbest - the Xbox 360 is by far the better console for the money, unless you fancy forking out a wee bit more for the PS3...

You say it like its a fact, when it comes to consoles, its a purely opinionated view. I personally like the Wii. I'd like to know whether those criticising it have played one? The remote works very well with non-party, or "serious" games. It adds a new dimension, but you certainly get a greated feeling of control, and it really adds to the gaming experience.

This coming from a somewhat "serious" gamer.

I have played one FYI, and apart from drunken parties they're not really value for money. I'm not criticising the wand, sitting alone in a room with a controller is one thing, but waving it around madly is even more sad. Like I said, most people who have one hardly use them when they're by themselves.

I have played a few games on the wii, with friends they are fantastic, a great laugh. on your own there are only one or two games worth playing, like zelda. It's innovative and a different direction to the rest of the market which is just chasing power and graphics. single player may become more exciting when the online stuff gets going.

there is a cricket game like a wii available in the argos catalog.

it is a bat ball and a box that plugs into the tv.

the graphics are fairly appauling and because of the delay on the infrared from the bat youy have 2 play the shots very early. the ball is just a controller with three buttons on it to decide line and when the bowler gets to the crease you either bowl properly without letting go of the ball or just shake it to stop the power bar when the bowler arrives at the crease.

not the best game ever but it certainly has potential also only cost about £10

Are you sure the game is on wii? It sounds like it is one of those games that you plug into the tv and play.

I got a wii for xmas and i find it quite fun, a cricket game would be good, but I also have a Ps2 so i go ont hem half and half, the wiis are also now a lot safer with wii jackets that give a lot more grip, and hip it does come out of your hand it probs wont smash anything, also theyve made new loops for your wrists which dont snap easily, the best game for the wii, though, is so obviouly the mario an sonic at the olympics
