With Pakistan already out of the world cup and India is probably on the way, ICC gets the treatment it deserved from the weaker nations.

The format was faulty and the aim was to filter the weaker nations before the super 8.

They reached the height of hypocrisy when they published the fixture of second round excluding the weaker teams.

Now, if India fails to reach the second round, the approach will backfire and ICC is gonna loose hell lot of money.

Weaker teams ensured their voice is heard.

The format is faulty, the should have divided the teams into two group. (8 in each group).

Top four teams go to knockout quarter final stage and that leads to semifinal and final.

Now, a public apology is required from Michael Holding and others who were against participation of weaker teams.

I am with Bangladesh, whether they win or lose.

I agree Ireland and Bangladesh shut all those people up who were saying minnows shouldn't be in competition.

Where are you getting this from?
World Cup 2007 is taking place in West Indies.
West Indies is composed of small islands.
2 islands could not have hosted the group stage.
They would have to house 8 teams per island.
Not fair to rest of the island nations, now is it?
That is why they had to split it up into 4 group.
And to even the groups, the balanced it out with experienced teams vs upcoming  teams.

I agree this format for the WC is much more exciting.  I didn't think the format 4 yrs ago was that great.

They had to structure the groups in the format they have. Can you imagine if it was all random and we ended up with Aus, SA, NZ and Eng in the same group? Then another group with Pak, Ind, SL and WI? This structure is right. It gives the minnows a chance to cause an upset and qualify ahead of a top-tier team if they're better on the day without risking, for example, Bermuda and Netherlands going through while SA and Aus don't make it because of one off-day vs England.
