Lets See How Far this proves out to be correct ........... Here are 2 solid reasons: Reason1: Year 1981 1. Prince Charles got married 2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe 3. Australia lost the Ashes 4. Pope Died 5. 2 years later India won the world Cup!!! Year 2005 1. Prince Charles got married 2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe 3. Australia lost the Ashes 4. Pope Died 5. 2 years later India will win the world Cup Reason2: 1982 Football World Cup won by Italy 1983 Cricket World Cup won by India 2006 Football World Cup won by Italy 2007 Cricket World Cup: INDIA Still doubtful??? Watch out on Final Day |

Could very well come true. Not referring to the astrology aspect. Although chances are rare, things like that happen in sports all the time. For example, back in cricket WC 1992, Pakistan was match away from being knocked out before even reaching the 2nd stage. The crucial match got rained out and with that miracle they continued on to win the tournament, leaving critics shocked but entertained. More recently, last year Fifa WC 2006 France was struggling to make it past their group stage. But voila, a month later Zidane was still scoring and headbutting against Italy....which they lost due to penalties...But nevertheless made it to the Final. So the chances are always present.

I'm writing them off. They don't have what it takes to win. They made it through last time and got thrashed by Australia.
There not the same side they were then, and certaintly don't have the form going into the super eight (that's if they make it).

I'm telling you. If ever there was a team with Indians that I expected to go to the finals, it certainly wasn't the 2003 team. Never expected them to make it. My friends blame me that they lost. I met a person who tole me that I had a choice between India beating Pakistan and India winning the cup. I think I said I want them to win the World Cup but everyone told me I said the former. . It is a true story. Anyway, I still can't believe they made it to the finals when I think back to it. At that time I only cared about winning but this time I realised that the team was lucky in a way. Got Kenya in semi-finals and all.
This time, India has one of the best teams ever. Just have a teeny tiny problem of players out of form. Thats it. After all we won the WC in 1983 true a miracle. Infact miracles. ------------- |

India won't win this WC! The Caribbean is one place they don't enjoy and history shows it. But I think they should feel sufficiently confident against SL even with their current form cause they have a history of doing pretty well against them and also when it come to Inter-subcontinental matches in big tourneys (exeption: Bangladesh/Ind game), India have a very good record. |

Yes they do Siddi. The problem is that no other side in the competition
plays under the pressure that the Indians will be experiencing just
now. They have to win or over 1 billion people will be distraught and
very , very angry. It's just a game , but to every Indian fanatic today's match is the most important event in their lives. That's totally irrational , but sensibilty goes out of the window when cricket's involved and that level of expectancy must impact on the players. They get paid a great deal of money , but with what they have to face today I think they just might deserve it. Losing just isn't an option - I don't know how they sleep! ------------- Mental disintegration works for me !! |

I really pity the Indian eleven. I wonder if any of them must have slept last night. Equating national pride with wins in cricket is an Indo-Pak custom which should be rationalised before we see a repeat of horrendous ignominities like the Woolmer tragedy. |

Well it's not very likely that Bermuda will beat Bangladesh but A LOT of unlikely things having been happening so far in this world cup....Like Pakistan's lost to Ireland and India's lost to Bangladesh....both of those were unexpected!!!!! So even though it is not likely that Bermuda will beat Bangladesh, one never knows for certain what would happen! ------------- |
