Ok never heard of him :D, would you say a googley is more affective then
leg break or off break?

From what ive seen Cameron White pretty much just bowls googlys, though he's lucky if they turn at all, pretty much just go straight

yes, Cameron White bowls pretty much all wrong'uns.
I believe the term for referring to this type of bowler is a "Right-arm Legbreak Googly" or whatever the appropriate left-arm term is.

Well my googelys turn a bit and they loop which makes it tricky for the batsman

a pure googly bowler will never be as effective as a leg spinner, and it depends on how accurate they are as to whther thay are better than an off spinner

I agree in some ways but in others. It can be easier to control and not loose as many runs..

However, a leg break googly bowler has much in his arsenal than an off break bowler. He was a ball to go the other way, which none but the best Offspinners have to offer. He was a topspinner, which can be more effective then an Offspinner's arm ball.

It's more because there aren't enough decent young legspinners left. Warne and Kumble have both retired so that's the two best ones gone.

Hogg is a leggie he has done really well in the ODIs batsman can't seem to pick his googly, especially flintoff. He does not conceed to many runs, it is a shame his leg break does not turn much otherwise he would be a good test bowler.

yeh that could be because hes a chinaman bowler eg it goes into the right hander, so dont expect much away turn, except from his googly :P

Left Arm Off spinners and Right Arm Leg spinners seem to be in short supply on the international stage and it is a shame.
I think it's because finger spin (Left Arm Leg/Right Arm Off) is easier to bowl.
It seems to me like very few on the international stage actually want to put the effort in and learn it, and that selectors choose finger spin over wrist spin.

Yes that's what I mean.

I hope that people who copied warne come through, and hopefully some of them will be English.

i completely agree if you get the right pitch on the ball regardless of wether it turns yourt gunna cause trouble. But what a great spinner needs is acuracy on its pitch a good mind to keep the batsman guessing a controlable turn and definatly you need an array of ball. You have to still practice leg break and faster balls as if you bowl the same ball even with tuern and the purfect lenth the batsaman will pic it then your in trouble. So yer get your pitch tight think smart and pracxtice mutliple diliveries and the wickets will fall good luck.

It is possible just being able to bowl googlies. I had thi this trouble for years, I was able to bowl leggies when I was younger then concentrated on variations and had succes with bowling googlies and now I can't bowl a leggie to save my life. Just ensure your doing the basics.
