This is a topic about your best ever bowl. A jaffa that beat the batsman all ends up. The one that you think of every time you run in to bowl. I'll give you an example:
My best ever bowl was in the final game of the season. I was called over by my generous captain and he told me to set the field, so my attacking instincts got the better of me and I set the most attacking field ever with no men on the boundary and the furthest back man at square leg. Well my first ball, the guy tried to slog me and it went straight up in the air to mid off and he caught it. It was a good sign. Since this was in a 2020 match I needed to bowl well for my field to work. I let away a few boundaries but most balls were good and 3.5 overs later I was 2/18. I was happy although I wanted one more wicket desperately so I thought about using a variation. I decided on the googly as the guy at the other end was on 0 from 13 balls. I told the guy at mid off what I was going to do but he just smiled because he had no idea what a googly was. I ran in to bowl and to my great delight it pitched a few inches outside off, I held my breath because sometimes my googlies dont turn, but this one turned and hit him and it would have knocked leg out if it hadn't hit his pads. The umpires finger went up and I was delightes, my finest ever wicket.

my best bowl ever would have to be at skool cricket training, i bowl left arm quick much like nathan bracken. our coach set us a task of gettin a year 12 reginal battsman out (i am in year 9), every body got 2 balls each and if we didn't get him out we had to do a lap, if he got out he would have to do a lap. i was bowlin the last ball. i thought to my self ill try to get it up there and swing it. so i griped the ball for a inswinger. i steamed in and released, the ball felt perfect as it left the hand, i just looked up to see him play a cover drive the ball went though bat and pad and middle stump cart wheeled out of the ground, it was a great ball. later i was told it swung a mile and it was a quick 1. i belive this was the greatest ball i have ever bowled

We were playing against a club from Essex who were reknowned for their strength as a batting team. I was brought on maybe 2nd change to bowl little left arm dobbers round the wicket. After going for a single in my first over I found myself bowling the second at their No 4 who was clearly their star player.
He works a couple away but couldn't hit the gaps then off the 4th ball hit a good drive which point made an excellent save on. The dot balls gave me the confidence to hold the next ball back a touch. It looped perfectly and drifted into the right hander then bounced and straightened. The batsman didn't do a whole lot wrong and had covered up so well that I didn't actually see the ball hitting the top of the off stump, but I'd totally done him in the air to the extent that even the ultra hard to please skipper/keeper was raving about it!
Funnily the effect of seeing their best player dismissed like that reduced them to some sort of paralysis against me and even though I didn't bowl all that well afterwards they were terrified of playing any shots and the only other run I conceded was an edge between slip and gully (6-4-2-2 by the way).

Wow!!! Excellent figures there.
The best ball I ever bowled would've had to of been against Damien Martyn when myself and a couple of fellow XI players got the chance to bowl in the nets against the Australian's a couple of years back.
I began bowling flatter with a bit more pace to get a feel for things against the big time. He told me to flight a couple up for a change. I did. As a result he belted me a few times back over my head. Though I managed to get a couple right and got him bowled off a lopped up wrong-un that he misjudged.
Though after that he made light work of me, haha.

hmm back a few years now, Their captain was on strike and wholloped 13 off the previouse over from the other opening bowler. i managed to bowl 2 dot balls to him, 3rd ball i bowled a huge, late inswinging yorker, he was playing a square drive, but just as he planted his front foot, the ball swung back in from outside off to take the base of leg stump. was so funny, i was celebating as he finished playing his square drive. the whole delivery seemed to happen in slow motion.

Being a part time bowler I don't bowl too often, but I had one good moment when I bowled a guy with a leg break that pitched a mile outside leg, the batsmen shouldered arms only to see his leg bail on the floor.

One of my best was to one of my school mates! It pitched a good way outside leg stump and knocked the off stump out of the ground. It was bowled flatter and quicker. It was a real big ripper!!

Probably an inswinging yorker which broke the middle stump. Then I repeated it next over, same result - wicket.

My best one was probably a little match we played last summer in the local park. I was bowling to my friend, who's just one of those batsmen you hate with a passion because it seems no matter what you do you just can't get them out.
Anyway, in the last over I'd bowled to him he'd hit me for 18 (3 sixes and 3 dots) so I knew that he'd come charging down the wicket to reach the flight.
As I finished my run up he started to advance so I bowled him a topspin bouncer and he was left in no mans land when the keeper whipped the bails off.
It didn't matter in the way that proper matches do but it was a personal victory.

it was in a friendly match, last over, me vs a lhb, i bowled a doosra which pitched just outside off and crashed into middle stump, the batsman didn't kno what happend, the sad thing is, ive lost how to bowl a doosra, very tough delivery to bowl. probably y its one of the best balls ive ever bowled

Bowled one that pitched maybe 6 inches outside off stump, cut back in with extra bounce and hit the splice of the batsman's bat and he edged it to our 2nd slip.

Sometimes if you bowl cross seam the ball will spit off a length or even fuller if it lands right, which can have surprising results as the batsman suddenly has a ball rearing toward his throat as he expects to drive it.

Would have to be a two wicket in two ball over. I got one batsmen playing and missing at every ball, and the fifth one was a perfect yorker bowled.
The second was caught and bowled.
Probably the quickest i have ever bowled, i have a very slingy action.

I was bowling to one of High profile cricketers in a practice match (Niroshan Bandaratilake, SL test cricketer I think) when I ripped two leggies in a row to beat him. All two drifted half a foot across the pitch before pitching and then spinning. Then I followed up with a flat inswinging yorker (they are not fast as from a medium pacer) that bananad in to the base of the leg-stump bowling him. He was shocked and said "What the **** was that you bowled?" to me.

my best ball has to be in the nets a few months ago. i was bowling to one of our off spinners who is a decent batsman when i bowled on that drifted down the leg side and pitched about a foot away from the batsman about 6 inches outside leg stump and clipped the top of off. Bamboozled.

I produced a jaffa yesterday. A lefty was batting and I was going to bowl the googly and as I saw him advancing down the wicket so I pulled back the line shorter and the ball pitched on leg stump and he played a forward defense and didn't pick it and the ball turned and hit the top off stumps.

I don't think I've ever bowled many unplayable balls, but I've bowled really good spells. I was playin in a 20 overs game a couple of years ago (this was a juniours match) and we batted first I think we got ended up on about 110 through the openers taking their time on what was a good track. First our bowlers we're getting a bit of a slapping away bowling tat balls. I they needed about 20 with about 8 overs left with about 5 wickets remaining. I get brought on (I'm usually first change bowler) and I'm quite decent at bowling at the death (I can get some swing at the end) and the two bats at the other end are well in.
First ball I bowl was left it was quite a good leave because the ball wasn't too far away from the stumps it swung in.
Second ball I've bowled it a bit fuller and he's in two minds to leave or play it at it, in the end it swung late and just play an in between shot it hit his pad, all the team went up (I'm very loud on the field) and he gave it, it was plum though
my second wicket I manage to pitch it on off stump on a good length and it seemed away caught the edge and my mate Matty the keeper took it nice and easy
The other bowler I think it was my mate Chris on at the other end, he was getting a bit of tanking so I had to bowl even more tighter. I was very fired up, I like to compare myself to an Allan Donald with my attitude and fireyness. I was at that time probably the quickest bowler in our side this when I was about 14-15 I could bowl about 60 mph and get it swing, and I sometimes got abit too fired up.
At this time I had my tail up and I run in for my third over and I was fire up I bowled a good length ball and it was swing into him it just zipped past his edge (leftie) then I bowled a very good bouncer that he had to duck out of the way of, then after that I got him with a yorker that swung into him. then we only needed to wickets to win I finish the rest of my over with a single and dot balls
last over I bowled it was the second from last over and mt last over I tie this kid up with a few good length balls then I bowled him with an off cutter that cam right back into him. was a beautiful ball. They still had a guy who was on 50 so he tried to keep him off of the strike cus he was gonna give us a canning. So we tried to give the tailender the strike but putting the field back abit they needed 6 to win off of the last over, they didn't take the single.
Last over they knocked them off, the tailender edged it to 3rd man and he got the kid who was past his 50. They knocked them off in the last over. I felt so disapointed though :-(
I ended up with my figures being 4/7 which is one of the best spells I've ever bowled. I've got 5 fors before but I mean I gave my heart and soul for the team, but ehhh it happens was a great game though really tense. Cus they're a posh club and we're a bunch of riff raffs, scrubbers, working class lads and they're a bunch of snobs. We always wanna stuff the snobs cus they always look down on us, and we nearly did it aswell :-(

As an off spinner any delivery that pitches on or just outside and gets through the gate to bowl someone is good, my best return was 7-28 from 10 overs, took the top 7 batsman after coming on for our opening bowler who bowled 4 overs and was hitting 1st slip and having a 'mare.

Mine is one I will remember for ever. It was on a turning track and I was bowling to a left hander who was on about 76. They had a 3 wickets left and needed 28 off 5 overs and we all knew this guy could get them over the line. I come in to bowl my off spin and flight the ball right on leg stick. He plays for the turn with his bat on middle. The ball zips past the edge and knocks the off-stick half way up. We go on to win the game by 20 runs.

My best bowl was with a ball that I sort of cheated with. I am a swing bowler so I picked one side of a brand new ball with my nails and with any sharp object I could find, then on the other side I spread vaseline all over it and rubbed. I then waited for a really cloudy day to try it out and when that day came I was pretty excited, even though the ball wasn't "in the spirit of the game." I told my friend to pad up and he's a pretty tight batsman who has played me millions of times so knows how I bowl and how to play me but he didn't know what was in store next for him. My first ball was a wide, starting out a foot outside off, then hitting the net as it swung far, far too much. Next ball started outside leg by a few feet and swung back so he just played a normal leg glance. Third time lucky, I thought and my god it was. It started out a foot outside leg and swung SOO far, I couldn't believe it. He played for the backward defensive stroke covering all but a smidgeon of the bail. Yes, thats right, I whiskered the bail and it fell off the stump. He didn't even know he'd been bowled. It was a wonderful feeling, despite the cheating nature of it. I usually open the bowling for my club and I bowl it about 65 mph which gives the ball a chance to swing as I'm not particularly fast. I will never forget that ball till the day I die.
Oh and I once set the bowling machine to a 95mph inswinging yorker starting out on off and moving to leg. Gave my mate a fright, I'll tell you, considering he plays in our 3rd XI.

ahhh hehe a little cheating doesn't hurt anybody . I did the same stuff, but in my case i was fair. we play with tennis ball, so i taped one side of the ball and left the other one and man i got a hat trick and 2 more wicket in that over , that guy don't know how to swing the ball but he was using the same ball as me so i was fair . He didn't knew why i have tapped the ball on one side and left the other hehe, he insisted on completely covering it but if i had done it, how would i have got hat trick .
Haven't swung the ball as much as that day, the ball was just inswinging and after pitching, it kept going between his bat and legs and hitting stumps, what a feeling damn, it felt so great .
I wish i can swing like that without cheating

That's good practice for the batsman. When I'm at home, me and my brother usually tape up a tennis ball - sometimes one side so it acts as reverse swing and other times, we put tape as a seam so the ball will swing conventionally if you get the seam position correct! Turns out I got very good at the balls going away from me but I hate those bloody inswinging yorkers!

That's well known and not well liked by batsman but it does help immensly and is a good way of practicing against swing bowlers. Inswinging yorkers are tough, you really have to be concentrating and with those balls you never know how fart he ball can swing back in.

inswinging yorkers are my favorite bal to bowl. prety much every time it gets the wicket. especially on the days im really swinging it. they are extreemly hard to keep out especially when bowled at the right times.
also. for STNOOR the taped up tennis ball will always swing double as much as a normal ball. i feel bowling with that makes me thing swing is too easy so i stuck to bowling the normal ball and im swinging it like a beast. just experiment and exagerate with grips and you may find some more swing comes your way
