How are you getting out? Taking a big slog and missing? Or is your forward defensive lacking? Where do you bat, is there a coach in the team or would one of the better batsmen who would take a look at you and tell you what you're doing wrong?

When I was getting out unnessesaraly I got some tips from a team mate. Turned out I wasnt moving my foot towards the ball enough. After that I started improving.

I bet you're not.LOL
And it's a perfect example of why I don't particularly like batting with the tail.
You lot are more often than not suicidal singles runners.LOL

well what i tent to do is take my eye off the ball at the last second and then take a massive swing at the balls they are usally dead on my middle stump. i bat low down in the order. i think that i could become a good batter if i just had the confindence

If your partner is run out you still haven't scored a run though, have you.

You really don't understand cricket at all, do you?

When you win the toss - bat.
If you are in doubt, think about it - then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague - then bat.

I'm sorry, but I doubt there is a number 8 in any grade of cricket who, having played 100 innings, has never made a duck.

Please dont try and start arguments, thats not why I'm here. I'm here to make friends and talk about cricket.

Also, I was clearly exaggerating when I said tap and run, I oviously aim for a gap in the field and then run. I'm your typical "stay there and let the guy at the other end do his thing" type of batsman.

And I have never made a duck. I dont know how I managed it but its completely true I have never made a duck.

Jones completed many innings for England without any ducks until that pair match and he batted at 7.

I sware this is true, it's hardly boast material anyway. I have only averaged 18 in my whole career.

I am not trying to start an argument with you.  I would advise not posting absolute drivel, it attracts attention ........ KP will not score a double hundred, Botham no great skakes as a batsman, running your partner out stops you getting a duck (clearly it doesn't), etc.

I'll bother to reply to you when it takes me less than 27 reads to work out what you are going on about.

LOL umm i think you need some serious 1 to 1 coaching.

Getting ducks is often a mental thing but judging by what you said you need to learn the basics of batting.

Imagine, the guy posted his problems which meant he knew why he was getting the ducks and didn't even bother until probably now to fix it. LOL
