I have to say Sehwag...I can't believe Gilchrist isn't one of the 5. I would love to vote for Afridi but as I've mentioned a 100 times, he isn't consistent enough. I call him a slogger.
Sehwag is a fast player, he is explosive, and exciting to watch.

I would go with Sehwag as well. The way he plays, he can destroy an
attack in seconds not to mention how excellent his strokeplay is.
Why is trescothick there? I dont think he is a very exciting batsman. HE is good, but not exciting

yea, he is a good batsman but not really exciting. If Gilchrist was in that list, I would vote for him.

I made the poll ... don't like trescothick as an exciting player ? who would you prefer was there ? ... gillchrist ? Once again ... im no expert i just ilke cricket and have limited knowledge of the game... tell me if someone is more explosive.
I happen to think Afridi is the most exciting BECAUSE he is not consistent ... infact he in consistently INCONSISTENT.. MADDINGLY inconsistent ... but TO ME that's what makes him exciting...
Afridi ... like Mr Gump said of life... "... is like a box of chocolates, you never know whacha gonna get ." Forest Gump

On his day, Trescothick can be just as exciting as Afridi/Gilchrist or whoever. I will find some evidence of this and post it shortly.
Here we go:

86 off 55 balls. Not bad, eh? More ODI hundreds than other Englishman too, for the record.

When Sehwag is on row its amazing to watch, Multan ka Sultan what a great ining 309!!!!!!
|

The Sultan of Multan, or as we say it in Urdu, "Multan ka Sultan" is Inzamam-Ul-Haq, not Sehwag. I don't know who gave him that title, but it's Inzamam who is from Multan.

Andrew Symonds.... 152 off of 116 (i think that many balls) against NZ just last week is no mean feat... and he is consistent...
Sehwag and Gilly are definetly the next 2 though
|

Yea, Gilchrist is very exciting to watch and so is Sehwag. Sehwag has very less foot work and that sometimes goes against him.

This poll is missing Gilchrist, Hussey, Kemp and Smith. It is therefore void.
------------- JH Kallis is the only player in history to have 8000 runs, 200 wickets and 100 catches in BOTH forms of the game. Only Sobers (tests) and Jayasuriya (one dayers) have achieved half that feat.

Im not going to vote in this poll for 1 reason and 1 reasone only,There is no GILCHRIST!!!!!!!!!How could you keep Gilchrist out of this poll????He is 1 of the best batsman in the world today, and is the most entertaining batsmen i have seen in my life!!Trescothick is not exciting,Dhoni.....no comment........where is Pietersen,Flintoff,G@yle and as we seen in the ODI series England vs SA in SA Justin Kemp hit 80 off 50 balls, this poll should not be here.

Compare Afridi, Sehwag, Dhoni and Tendulkar,s most exiting innings, forget about consistancy, I believe Afridi ranks the best, But dont forget Pieterson, Flintoff, Razzak, Cairns, Jayasuria all of these have proven themselves time and again.
Well Gilchrist has done the same so many times, most exciting no doubt.
|

If you look at each aggressive player's best and most aggressive inning, then Afridi's ranks highest, but if you look at how many times they have given us excitement, then Gilchrist ranks highest.

If u want entertainment Afridi aint the man coz of his inconsistencies he does not always perform, thus doesnt excite, u go to the cricket to see him and he gets a first ball duck, bowled middle stump. Choose a real batsman to entertain u

Why does every1 keep overlooking andrew symonds and sehwag???? yes afridi may have a high strike rate... but who cares when he only ever gets 20 or 30 with the occasional 50... there is nothing spectacular or exciting about making 20 runs from the 1st three overs and then losing your wicket straight away... He is i have to say one of the most overrated players in the game...
If you looking for excitement Symonds or Sehwag are clearly the 2 batsmen to look for... they consistantly score a decent (when i say decent i mean 50's) amount of runs... and at a strike rate of 98/99... no it's not as high as Afridi... but it sure is a lot more exciting because it lasts longer... and happens a lot more often....

Afridi is the most exciting batsman in terms of how fast they play. He hits huge sixes and everything to excite the crowd but he doesn't last. If he could last longer, he would by far be the most exciting batsman ever to bless cricket.
I'd say the most exciting batsman is Gilchrist.

Afridi is too inconsistent to be exciting, he gets a good score once every 7 or 8 innings at the least.
Lara, Gilly or Ponting for me.
-------------

Thats the thing about Afridi. He is just not consistent enough. He is way to aggressive and doesn't care about anything but hitting every single ball out of the ground.
Lara and Gilchrist are both very exciting batsman.

East or West Sachin is the best. In real pressure situations he has come to his best. Take into any world cup since sachin was playing. He was at his best and will be best for the forthcoming series against pak. He has teared part shoaib and nobody actually count the number of pieces.

Well every body talks about AFRIDI and Shewag but i like Gilchrist because he is the only player espacialy in one day cricket who can destroy any bowling line up.he is the only player who smashed fours and sixes even on the bowls which looks unplayable. In test cricket no one can compete Brian Lara espacialy when he get started after 50 runs.Players like lara, Crains, Mohammad yousaf, Ponting, Sachin, Inzi and many others who are techniqualy correct are more dangerous and more exciting than the batsmans like Afridi and Sehwag.Whenever Afridi try to stop the ball correctly he gets himself in trouble. No doubt on his day he more dangerous than others.

I reckon sehwag is the most exciting because although afridi is the
biggest hitter, he gets out stupidly more often than he actually has an
exciting innings, which makes him kind of annoying to watch. Sehwag
however, is more consistent, which makes watching him all the better.
------------- My two favourite Batsmen:
Jacques Kallis is a very solid but destructive batsmen and not to mention he can bowl as well.
I also like Michael Clarke for his amazing batting talent at such a young age

Bowl straight and fill to Afridi and eventually he'll get bowled.
-------------
|

Yea, because he's obviously going to close his eyes and try and hit it straight over the bowlers head, but eventually he'll miss and get clean bowled.

ahhh symmo kick afridi anyday youd rather watch a slogger other than powerful classic cricket shots and lofted sixes over cover even jaysuria beats afridi probaly even ricky ponting any one can swing a bat and gte lucky on occasions e.g afridi averages 25 at a strike rate of 107 symonds averages a touch under 40 with a strike rate of 90 and he has batted extremely well in the last 3 years and is thr 3rd best allrounder in the world

id rather watch symonds bat plays powerful strokes over cover for six and shots like that really are exiting and he can hit them just as good as afridi, they are both attacking but symonds only puts away bad balls and then puts away any ball at the end of the innings. afridi goes for anything and that explains why his average is (23 )
so symonds his the most attacking batsmen in my opinion
afridi attacking slogger (it isnt a fluke but it takes luck or it has to be his day to make a hundred)

Afridi's batting does get very annoying because he only hits one good inning per year! He has been on the International stage for more than about 10 years now and until now, he still doesn't even have a total of 10 centuries. But his best innings are certianly very exciting to watch. Still, I would not rate him as the most exciting anymore!
My next choice for most exciting batsman is Adam Gilchrist or Andrew Symonds. They're both exciting to watch. Symonds is just a pleasure to watch!
