Bowling front on is for anyone, off the top of my head i cant think of any short int cricketers with a front on action...actually i cant really think of any pace bowlers that are short except for maybe James Anderson?

Just give it a go bowling front on, i switched to it after having constant biomechanical problems bowling side on just over a year ago, and now i am a much better bowler, i am nearly 6 foot tall though.

Malcolm Marshall wasn't tall and he bowled front on. I prefer front on action really. Such ease on the body - you'll be less prone to injury bowling front on than side on.

Well, can't really think of somebody who is short with a front on action, but me myself, I'm 6 foot 1 and have an action sortof in the middle. Not front on, not side on and it feels really good on the body, not much strain after bowling long spells.

There's been a few shortish pace bowlers...currently in the game Fidel Edwards (5ft 8in)and Mohammad Sami could be the shortest around. Funny enough both bowl 90mph +. Both are side on bowlers tho. I'd say if you want to bowl really fast then your unlikely to achieve that as a short man bowling front on. But that doesnt mean you cant take wickets by swinging and seaming the ball and being accurate.

James Anderson for England? He isn't small. He is 6ft odd.

haha i was jstu about to say!
he's 6ft 2
same as hoggy TongueTongue

but for the origional person...i think bowling front on is ment to drag the ball down when you bowl but thats jsut what ive heard.

for me i have no control bowling front on over anything...line length, pace etc.
but its your choice...

It depends, definitely for spin it's like a sin to have a front-on action. You do get successful front-on pace bowlers though, so yeah, like inswinger says, it's your choice - if front-on works better, stick with it.

Front on, it definitely is easier to bowl shorter deliveries i.e bouncers, but i find because everything is just going straight instead of being side on and having to bring your body around it is also much, much easier to bowl line and length, while also just as easy to bowl swingers or cutting the ball.
