a chat in another thread has lead me to start a thread releating to the mental aspects of cricket.

we all know it takes alot of phisical attributes to become a good cricketer, but i think that mental atributes are equally important

My views are if you think positively, you'll be less disappointed with the result!

County Sim on extended break until I've got less work and more free time. When I have a specific date, I'll post it in the thread.

Thinking positive is a must in my opinion. To me the biggest thing though is just not accepting the situation, I/the team might be getting a right thrashing, but i just think F#&k it i am not going to let this continue and i always seem to be able to find another gear and lift my game.

Someone who was successful at cricket was Mark Richardson, just through his mental attitude and work off the park. From a left arm spinner batting down the order for his domestic side to opening bat for NZ, and did a bloody good job of it.

Cricket is 90% mental and that other 10% is physical, I reckon. You have to be positive to be a good cricketer. A prime example of this is with Vinod Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar, many thought Kambli was more talented than Sachin Tendulkar but Tendulkar was mentally stronger than Kambli.

"His classical hits down the ground, met with a checked drive, were Tendulkar at his best. It was though he had a new lease of life." - Sachin Tendulkar's return to cricket with a 91-Ball century.
