I love to put this topic

Mike Hussey is the Best Batsman of Year 2005.

ODI - 20 Matches , Avg is 146+.

Tests - 3 Matches , Abg is 120+.

Absolutely no one is Near Hussey this year so Mike Hussey of Australia has to be awarded the best batsman  in both forms of the game in Year 2005.

P.s :Now don't tell me ,, he has only played 3 tests ,, he has proved it after 20 ODI's and kept the same in Tests means he is the BEST.

and  I am lovin it .

Mike Hussey is great!!!!!!!!!!Maybe the selectors will give him a place in the international squad for good!

But my best batsman for 2005 in test cricket is Lara!

Why was'nt he in the side for so long ? Was he not performing earlier in First class?

He would have been in any side 5 years earlier but Australia just didn't need him I guess.

Right now, Hussey is the best batsman...along with Inzamam-Ul-Haq.

Best Batsmen for 05 are Kallis and Ponting.... hard to split...

How can you argue against runs scored for the year ??? Ponting has the most for Both forms of the game in 2005, and still has 2 tests to play... Kallis averages the same... yet has played a few less tests so he has less runs...

Inzamam is the best batsman for this year. He has scored 4 test centuries. He has scored exactly 1000 test runs this year. He has averaged an outstanding 83.

Ponting has Scored 5... and 4 half centuries to Boot... and has 1300 runs.... Kallis has 4 centures to.. from less innings than Inzy... but i don't deny that Inzy should be up there...Trescothick musn't go without mention though... he has the most runs for Tests now after the Pakistan Series.. 1324.. 26 more than ponting...

Loads of runs for Trescothick, but about 300 of them were against Bangladesh at home. Good year for him without doubt, but he's not up there with Ponting, Inzamam and Kallis.

Inzamam is one of the best batsman of 2005, if not the best. Do Ponting and Kallis average higher than him this year?

Ponting, Inzamam, and Kallis are the 3 best batsman this year, but right now there is no one who comes anywhere near Inzamam.

Kallis and Ponting. Easy. I don't rate Inzi that highly.

-------------
JH Kallis is the only player in history to have 8000 runs, 200 wickets and 100 catches in BOTH forms of the game. Only Sobers (tests) and Jayasuriya (one dayers) have achieved half that feat.

But why? What is wrong with Inzamam? He just finished a series averaging 107. His average in 2005 is 83.33 and I think that is higher than both Kallis and Ponting. He has scored exactly 1000 test runs this year and I know that Ponting and Kallis have scored more, but that is still outstanding.

Maybe but he is just a hitter IMO not a good runner although yes he is a superb batsman. Trescothik has also hit over 1000 runs tihs yer :D

But he has been on such a roll this year. I already mentioned his outstanding stats this year. An ODI average of 54 and a Test average of 83.33. That's amazing.

Inzamam may not be the best batsman this year, but no doubt that he is one of the best batsman this year.
