I wanted to include it in the other thread, but i don't see a way - but here's the question!
Feel free to leave a reason why as well, be a little scope for discussion then..
Obviously being a Liverpool fan i'm going to back my team
And realistically i think we can do it, bias realism anyway. We have such a strong attacking force, the backing of a great manager and we have just been going from strength to strength since King Kenny took over.
The first few weeks he took over, rating and points wise we became the best team in the league, which is massive considering how poorly we started.

It will be a 2 horse race next year, and Liverpool is neither of those horses! Both Man Utd and Chelsea are going to strengthen themselves significantly over the summer I think, and so they will just move further ahead of the pack.

I think Arsenal if not Liverpool, Van Der Sar and Drogba are two pivotal players for either side and are on the decline. Torres was a great striker, but hasn't been for years. I don't see them strengthening. Arsenal have great youth and have been fantastic this season.
But on the Liverpool point, :P, i think this second part of the season alone we've shown we still have it. Playing well half the season and still contending for top four is brilliant, even though likely we'll end 5th.
And were only getting better, which can't be said for our opponents.

opponents? are you referring to the Sky 4? Sorry but your way off the mark there in my opinion. So Red scouse have done considerably better since the messier has returned, then again one of your 'opponents' has just reached the european cup final. Red scouse will do well next season but win the league, way off the mark.

Unsure what this part means, sorry.

When he returned we didn't just improve, statistically we were the best team in the league. And it took us half a season, playing well, to take 5-6th place. I don't think it's fair to count us out.

Yeah they have done well, and definitely will next season as well. I guess we'll have to see next season

Also guys, who do you think will win the upcoming game on Sunday, Chelsea vs Man Utd.
This game will be huge in deciding the league winners, who's going to take it?
I was thinking Chelsea would, more hoping. Especially since it's at Old Trafford, it will be extremely tough for them.
In honesty, i don't see Chelsea doing enough to take it. And apparently Howard Webb is the ref now?

Always the Red Devils, plainly out of pure biasness and the fact that Man Utd, even when they're not playing at their best, still manage to do well somehow or the other. Berbatov has found his feet this year and Hernandez is the match saver! Good defense in Ferdinand and Vidic. Van De Sar probably suppose to end his career this season I think so that will be a huge loss.

Well, if your competing for a top 4 place or even the title then your nearest 'opponents' would be those teams around you, hence the name sky 4 instead of top four because that’s how Sky promote, as their elite brand to market too the world. Look at how many times Arsenal have been shown on Sky over the last few weeks, not that I mind as they always entertain. This however is unfair on other teams in the league.

Hope that Chelsea do them on Sunday, and I will be watching in, HD. It will make the final run in much more interesting for us neutral fans.
Any how there’s the bigger matter of Wolves V West Brom First up and as the wolves ground is 0.9 of a mile up the road from me its hard hats on for the customary kick the sh!t out of each other before and after the game. Neanderthals the lot of them.
Give me a civilised game of Cricket any day of the week.

They all get the same money from Sky so I don't think unfair comes into it. And as a neutral fan I know I am far more likely to tune in to see certain teams, and far less likely to bother with Blackburn v Wolves for example.

I admire Andrew's optimism and hope he's right , but Liverpool are well short of a championship winning outfit. City will improve if they sack the present manager and United will be close as usual. I'd like Spurs to challenge as I regard Redknapp as a most able manager.

Thank you, i think Although i don't think it's just optimism and hope - statistics are there But you could be right Sledge, our forwards are young, could take us a couple of seasons to get there, but i don't see a reason we can't now - on to next season!
I don't think City will be in the top four next season, Man Utd will be, goes without saying. I'd like to see Tottenham up there as well, im a great fan of some of there players!
A little more interesting people - post the top four as you see it next season! I'll pop back on soon and do mine - back to work

1. Chelsea
2. Manu
3. Liverpool
4. Spurs
Not sure the gunners are gonna recover from this year's setback, plus they'll be losing Cesc to Barca come the summer transfer

Interesting Vote4peace - no Man Utd or Arsenal?
I'm going to for..
1. Liverpool 2. Man Utd 3. Chelsea 4. Tottenham
Hate to say it, but the top two may switch And then Arsenal 5th with City just behind them.

Soccer is not my stronghold but no way on earth will Liverpool end up ahead of Man Utd or Chelsea.
That's like thinking that West Indies will be #1 next year.

Did anyone catch the game yesterday? It was score at will, apart from 10-20 minutes Fulham looked alright. First four minutes we had scored twice, one within the first 40 seconds! None of their defenders could deal with Suarez, i'd like to see a team that could - after Man Utd failed miserably too
Maxi has scored 6 goals in 3 games now, 13 in 3 for the team He's the kind of player that wants he gets his confidence - he'll not stop. Obviously i don't mean scoring that many every game - but we'll be seeing improvement in him!

Lets not get carried away lads , Fulham's goalkeeper was atrocious , but I'll concede Liverpool did look dangerous when going forward - something that happened rarely under Benitez. Dalglish must get the job full time now , but it could still all end in tears.
Cynical huh !

No doubt Fulham weren't looking good, but to score 5 goals - and how comfortable certain players were, was good to see.
You're right about Dalglish, you can tell everyone really enjoys playing under him.. and if he doesn't stay you will see some tears

Well Kenny won't have enjoyed that yesterday ! Whatever was spouted after the Fulham game can now be seen as something of a false dawn - a Champions League place is as high as they are likely to go next season - and that's no gimme either.

No doubt, Tottenham scored in the first half and deserved the win - but Howard Webb should be banned from reffing our games
That's not fair to think it's false because we lose to a team, a really good team at that. We embarrassed Man Utd, beat chelsea, drew with Arsenal. We've achieved a hell of a lot since January - putting together the best statistics since the takeover.
Also before the Tottenham game we were scoring a handful a game, it wasn't just Fulham that we scored so many against
And hey, if were beating Man Utd etc and losing the odd game to Tottenham, or the odd one.. i'm happy with that and think that'll take us up
But i don't think we mind being underdogs..

The bottom of the table has really become a battle of survival, which teams do you think are going down - and who is staying up?
I hope Blackpool stay up, and it's a shame to see West Ham go down..

The real league was clinched in magnificent style yesterday. You can't ask for much better in a potentially nervy game where an away win was needed to ensure the title than being 3-0 up inside 6 minutes!

And we did pretty well at Arsenal, in fact thats two out of three season we've won down there. The fact that my oldest two son's went all that way makes it even sweeter, real fans and supporters of their local team which is getting rare these days.

Fair comment , the English Premiership's top 4 was predictable , but it's also fair to say that some results against the sides at the bottom were surprising.

Going to Villa was going to be tough, especially missing 6 starters.
We played well in the second half but didn't warrant a win, as the result suggested. Although i don't understand why a penalty wasn't given when Dunne decided to play as goalkeeper.
Look forward to the summer though

Hoping we bring in Adam and Young.

Trying to put together a prediction for top four, but i can't..
This season is going to be interesting.. Man City bringing in Aguero, one of the world's top strikers in my opinion, is a massive plus, but with Balotelli being homesick and Tevez not wanting to play there they have a lot of problems as well.
Liverpool have brought in some fantastic talent but without sorting the defence they just won't win enough games, really will be the target i think. Injury is always a problem as well, will need Gerrard fit. Man Utd have a great prospect in Hernandez, and Berbatov to aid him would be a good striking force. Losing Van Der Sar and Neville is big though, and they'll have to make sure there defence is up to the challenge. Curious to see who they play in midfield as well...
Chelsea, a lot of good players, but haven't done much to strengthen that, don't see them improving this year..
I think they'll be the top four, but like i said, no idea in what order..
Arsenal and Tottenham the only teams hoping to get a look in on them
