Well, being young is useful but you have to be talented. Ofcourse, experience is a very good thing. Youth is only useful if you are talented.

something which Australia will have to think about soon, most of the team are in their twilight years.

Some great cricketing quotes:

"It's tough for a natural hooker to give it up." - Ian Chappell
"On the outfield, hundreds of small boys are playing with their balls." - Rex Alston, BBC

A lot of Australia's great players are ageing. Ponting is 30 or 31, and he'll be here for a maximum 6 more years. McGrath and Warne are ageing. They're both 35+. Australia have to find young talent.

Australia already have young talent. They have Dan Cullen. He should be the man to replace Warne.

If someone is talented at a youthful age I think it all depends on how they are treated. I know it's not a cricketing example, but look at Matthew Tait from England Rugby. He played one game, got picked up and thrown backwards by one of Wales' backs and has since never had another cap. It is that kind of thing that worries me, because the guy has a lot of talent.

I can't think of any cricketing examples, but no doubt the same has been done in cricket?

A bright young thing promoted into the England time way before he was ready and his game never recovered
