in one innings i got 4 wickets for 13 runs with 1 maiden in 4 over spell. My team got all out embarrasingly for 110, the oppostion's chase was going well at 1 for 51, then i came into the attack and in myu 1st iover got 3 wickets in 4 balls, narrowly missing a hat trick, but getting the bloke out next ball. My 1st wicket was caught behind, My other 3 were bowled. I bowl Right-arm Off break.

I play Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth College in the UK. I am a right handed batsmen and the best way to describe my batting would probably be say a pinchhitter. I hit a cameo of 102 (run out) from 51 balls. With that innings i got promoted to the college first team which commences in the upcoming summer. My innings included 8 sixes and 7 4's. I also bowl leg spin and have a very good googly. I got hammered with my bowling going for figyres with 5 overs 63runs witth no wicket.

Yeh I bat at No.8 aswell, i can defend or plays shots, i find playing slow bowlers easy, but frustrating becuase the ball doesn't come on to the bat.

Where do you guys field, i used to field at mid wicket or mid-on, i had an accurate throw but not a strong arm and i could slide better then anyone in my team. I took a diving catch in front of me to get our express bowler a hat trick!

I like to field at slip but in club cricket that spot tends to be reserved for guys even older than me! I like to be i nthe game all the time so if it isn't slip I like mid off.

My best figures are 9-27 playing for England against Australia on my 17th birthday at Lords. The next afternoon , batting at 10 I slaughtered the Australian attack to all corners of the hallowed ground in making an unbeaten 129.

I used to field at square leg, cover and for a short while at slip, before my captain replaced me and dropped a sitter. My arm is pathetic, so anything deeper than the infield is a no-brainer.

When I was very young, I played once for my Dad's school team and fielded at long-stop. One time I forgot to change ends and my Dad nearly had a fit when he realised I was fielding at long-off at the age of 8 against adults!

I have hauls of 7/22, 4/6 and 5/12. You decide which is best. I have a top score of 88*

Posted By: -JP-
Date Posted: 10 January 2006 at 9:06pm

Well, in terms of BBI it's the 7-22, but economy wise it's the 4-6. But we can't say anything without the context. For all we know, the 7-22 and the 4-6 could have come in losing causes so it's up to you to decide which was best.

88* - nice. When we used to play cricket in the playground with a hockey stick and a tennis ball my top score was 88.

should a bowlers srike rate be higher or lower.

-------------

Posted By: -JP-

Slightly wrong place but I'll answer anyway. Strike rate is the amount of balls it takes for a bowler to take a wicket, so lower is best.

My highest score is 108* this year which I scored from like 81 balls, I came in at number 5. My best bowling peformance would have to be 7-29 from eight overs. There was one over which I would rather forget, but I eventaully got my pray in that over, after he punished me for two sixes in a row, then next ball, I pitched it up and had him stumped. I bowl Leg Spin.

My best performance for me though is 8/17 against the no.1 team in the competition, I got 4 wickets in one over but missed a hat trick. All bowled except one stumped and one caught and bowled, i was bowling Leg break/googly, but I normally bowl off spin, I can bowl both equally well.

In a 24 over game I played at school, my bowling figures was 1 for 11 from 2 overs. For batting, I scored 2 off 16 balls   A bit like Katich....

My best batting figures is 21 - 3 fours and 1 six.

Best bowling figures 3 - 24 all 3 bowled. I guest these figures will change this year as I am a good leggy and an improving batsman. I reckon a fifty won't hurt. My bowling average is about 25, economy rate about 5.68 ( thats before I mastered leg spin and haven't bowled leg spin in a match yet. This tuesday will be the first god spare life.) strike rate is about 24.

I have no trouble with the slower guys, but its the quick guys that got me in the past. This year will be different.

not really, the rest was patient. it was that i was so happy when i hit a six to reach the 50 runs that i put my mind to explore and it so came that i did, but when i reached 85 i slowed down to make my century. I got pound on my thigh a lot though and got my thumb blooded up twice and thats why i was really mad to explore as well.

I remember making at 38* off 15 balls or something. It included three sixes, and four fours, and only like four singles. Our team was stuck at 7/24, and I came in at number 7, and won our team the match. I didn't have much time to get my eye in, so I just played all the shots. No, they were not slogs.

have scored 12 hundreds for my local club 2nd grade, most memorable was when i was 99 against the front runners, leg spinner bowled it, caught the edge, hit my helmet, went straight up, caught by keeper, the boys gave me heeps, until the scorers had a recount which put me on 101 and i was stoked.

don't bowl often but when i do i swing it like damien fleming, best figures of 3-3 off 7

My strike rate would be over 170, if our team is in trouble and I'm batting at 7. We once needed to chase a silly total of 66, and our team was like 7/24, before I had to come in, and I got 38* off about 14 deliveries. I usually hog the strike if I am batting there.

This year wasn't my best season. This season I made two fifties and a century. I was stuck with poor form after I had just made a 50 and 38*. We have some rule where we got to retire on 50* and if our team is bowled out the retired batsman gets to come back in. I got to come back in once and thats it. I got ranked number 6 in my grade as a batsman, and I got ranked number 20 for all-rounder. Wonderful batting average of 40.79 and a bowling average of 13.4.

My highest score in a two dayer would be 108* because we don't have to retire there and in a one dayer it would be 53*.

I once got 3-14 when i was about 13 in my first 'adult' match things went down hill from there though.

My highest score was something like 22 and i was having a peach of a day, bludgening the bowlers around the field i was gutted when i got out to a stupid shot. Before that i was usually the no.8/9 who just hung around to support the real players, that day we were in big trouble the field closing in on me so i thought sod it lets have a bash.

Right, most wickets is 5 in 4 overs in a 20/20 game, and my highest batting total... erm, you dont need to know.

Can't remember best bowling figures............ Best batting 51 not out. As a keeper most dismissals in an innings = 4

right my best batting score is 72 Not out when I opened in a 20/20 and stuck around for the whole 20 overs

My best bowling is 2 for 10 of 2 overs

Not really much of an all rounder but hey, what can you do

Wow a hattrick that must have been the greatest feeling ever or was it a century.

I think a century would be the best feeling ever. As a 16 year old, I've made 3 centuries. My best being 108*.

A hat-trick is without a doubt more important in the context of the game then a century depending on the situation.

youve just completely contradicted yourself there AK it all depends on the games situation. you cannot say which is better.

Top score 71, best bowling 3 for 8. I am a wicket keeper.

Can we also post most catches/stumpings. If so, 5 stumpings within the space of 4 overs.

Minor counties suck and then you play for one
