i think he should come around no. 3 or 4 most of the time. he can make more centuries and become a better player. he hold a record of averaging 60 in that position.

As a No.3 you are basically an opener because more times then not the opener will get out early, he has to be able to dominate and score runs quite well and not get bogged down and put pressure on his partners. Ponting and Gibbs do this role well.
Dravid has to definately bat at No.5 to steady the innings in case the team is in trouble and if tehy are cruising then there is no pressure on him at No.5 and he doesn't have to b e 'the wall', he can play more strokes.

u r wrong miniwarney. if nit no.3 then no.4. not 5. 5 should be yuvraj. most common odi top 5. sehwag, tendulkar, ganguly, dravid, yuvraj. if changes then. sehwag, tendulkar, dhoni, dravid/ganguly, dravid/ yuvraj(if ganuly no.4 on the this occasion the dravid no.5)

Dravid should bat at number 4 or 5. He can anchor the batting.

3.dhoni
4.dravid
5.yuvraj
6.ganguly
7.kaif

Well if hes a rock like some people say he should be the anchor to the teams innings at No.5 maybe

Yea, if he's the anchor then he should bat at no. 5. That's where Inzamam (Pakistan's anchor) bats.

I always like Dravid at 5. I think he does really well there. I don't know how his stats look there but he has played some classy knocks there.

dravids ideal position would be 3, but for the betterment of the team, id think 4 or 5 would be better

If his ideal place is 3 , how can it be better for the team to bat at 4 or 5 ?
It's pretty difficult having a contradictory statement within the same sentence - congratulations.

buddy, you need to take it easy, if you had any brains you would kno what i meant, which since you dont is that dravid would make more runs at number 3 and his stats would be good. however, dravid plays quite slow thus it would be better for the team to have someone like ddhoni to come in at 3 to score quickly. if the batting by chance collapses dravid will be there at no 5 to steady the innings

I think Dravid should come in at no.3. Thats best for Dravid and for the team. Especially now as the Indian team is going to England. I think to tackle the swing of the English bowlers India needs Dravid to come in at no.3. He's probably our best technical batsman. Dhoni would be more suited at no.3 when India is playing on subcontinental pitches where there is not much swing or bounce.

in ODI i think 4 or 5 in Test i think maybe 3 to hold the innings together

I think dravid would defenitely come in at no.3 in tests. In odis too dravid at no.3 wouldn't be such a bad idea especially if one of the openers fall early.

So you only watching this series and not in the future.
One series experiment is no way close to any success, it has to be based on many.

I hope he has been dropped for good. Useless player because the bowlers have found his weaknesses and he is not ready to work upon them.

well I am not a fortune teller so I assume we are talking about now, Sehwag has been dropped and rightly so, if he performs domestically he may get called back, who knows, as for the future how much longer do you think these guy's have left, india would now have to have the oldest batting line up in the world. They will lose Tendulker, Dravid, Ganguly all sooner rather than later, and all around the same time, indian cricket has a long way to keep going down before it even comes close to being a good side again.

If india doesn't become a good side again within the next four years, well i sorry for india after that.
Well I had a long phone talk with the South African bowlers yesterday and tell them plain out make sure to get Gambhier for duck in all the matches.
I bet u after those four matches against South Africa, they will recall Sehwag because Gambhier ain't making no runs.

i think that he should bat at no3 because then it gives him time to build him innings before going for the slog in the last 10 overs

I made a long distance phone call and spoke to Andre Nel.
I told him not to make Gambhier look too small in the other matches so take thing a bit easier with him and as long as he doesn't pass 50 runs i am proud of u.
