U13 counts 13 year olds as well you know. its kind of based on the acedemic year, so U13 is year 8, or whatever if you go to a private school |

On the subject of inswinging deliveries, i find that getting a good stride in helps to limit LBW dismissals as well as bowled. I used to have loads of problems with inswingers but now i focus on getting my foot to the pitch and more importantly getting outside the line of offstump if the bowler is starting to really move it inwards. More often then not the pad proves good enough defence. |

especialy if youve played a shot, because then the umpire would have to be evil/stupid to give you out.

yeah definately...i wouldn't call it padding up...more providing a defence if you miss with a stroke

im not really much of a batsman, but i find that when facing any swing bowling, its important to play the shot as late as possibe and when you do play it get to the pitch, and if its definatly goin wide of your stumps, just leave it

i play for essex u13's and this is what i think, i think if the ball is swinging into you you should open up your stance a bit not to much and dont get your front foot to far across or youll get lbw and you should try to play the ball towards mid wicket as much as you can
