Interesting enough, I think it's Abdul Qadir son, currently playing in the u15 WC in the caribbean and someone said he's the next Shane Warne and he's already bowling better than Chawla. Seems some very strong statement from the source but have anyone on here heard or seen anything about the lad?
Zuhair, Green plane???

Many young stars plateau after a couple of years, if i was a pakistani, i wouldn't get too excited.

Yes this lad is very good. Lot better than his elder brother Imran, who later turned as a batsman who could bowl leg spin. He was too overhyped here in Pakistana nd failed to live to expectations.
However, this lad is really good. Unlike his dad and his younger brother, he bowls genuine leg spinner sthat turn a lot. Googly is something that has come naturally to him...he bowls the googly as good as qadir himself ever did. I just hope he plays a LOT of first class cricket before being thrown into International arena. He has a lot of time in his hands. One thing is for sure, from whatever of him I have seen, he is better than Kaneria even at present.

A funny thing about young spinners, as they grow up, they lose some sting because as they get more height, they have to spin the ball up less which creates less loop making it easier for the batsman to play.

Qadir sounds like a new Pakistan spin agent but I wont watch out for him just yet,he is just young and although he is good at the moment who knows where he will be in ten years.
For all we know he could be at the top of the recently discarded spinners pile.

There saying the same thing about Craig McDermott's son over here. They definately put way too much pressure on these young guys. Sometimes its better for cricketers to be slow starters, like Stephen Waugh, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath were.

It certainly is not easy to be son of the chief selector and hoping to play for your country. Poor Qadir

Yes, a lot of talks will be after him saying he got favoured etc. He'll have to have great mental strength to handle it.

Supposed to be a big turner of the ball. I mean the powers that be of Pakistani cricket are already drooling over him.

Shaun Pollock's old man Peter, who was a fair cricketer himself was chief selector when he was picked. |

Yeh, Spin Wiz mentioned Chawla before... one thing I don't like about Chawla is his inability to give the ball and rip and turn. It would be nice to see a young and upcoming spinner really give the ball some turn. Now that I think about it, the only really good emerging young spinner at the moment is Mendis. Not too much else happening elsewhere. |

I consider him in the medium pace, leg spin, off spin, chinamen, left arm orthodox categories !!!! Just kidding, the bloke can do a lot. Honestly, if you don't consider him in the spin category then it pretty much shows that spin bowling is not doing well in international cricket. Some of the young players I've seen around are not that flash. Albeit, in my opinion Mendis is a spin bowler, he bowls of a short run, at the same pace as spinners, using spin varieties for nearly all deliveries. He is classed generally as right-arm slow, but he could easily be considered basically as right-arm spin. But fair call Zuhair... he's a mixed bag after all. |

Yes quite a mixed bag I must say.But be assured - he is not a guy to be appraoching Sahne's tally - leave Murali alone.
